There is no reason that a critical educational practise like attendance should be viewed in the old, tedious manner in this age of rapidly evolving new technologies. In the conventional method, it is difficult to manage large groups of students in a classroom. Since it takes time and has a high risk of error when entering data into a system, it is not recommended. Real-Time Face Recognition is a practical method for dealing with a large number of students' attendance on a daily basis. Many algorithms and techniques have been developed to improve face recognition performance, but our proposed model employs the Haarcascade classifier to determine the to determine the positive and negative characteristics of the face, as well as the LBPH (Local binary pattern histogram) algorithm for face recognition, all of which are implemented in Python and the OpenCV library. For user interface purposes, we use the tkinter GUI interface.

Keywords: Local Binary Pattern Histogram(LBPH), Face Detection, Face Recognition, Haarcascade Classifier, Python, Student Attendance.

The study was conducted to determine the features and acceptability of Quick Response (QR) Code innovative platform as an attendance monitoring system. Purposive sampling was used in the study involving 20 teachers who adapted the QR code and 36 students who were exposed to the attendance monitoring system during the first quarter of the academic year 2018-2019. Descriptive data analysis was used in the study using the adapted standardized survey questionnaire intended for evaluating database interface. The digital application was available and free on Android smartphones that can be exported to Microsoft Excel, while the system doesn't require an internet connection and ideal for a big class. With the combined evaluations of the teachers-user and students, data revealed that QR Code as attendance monitoring system was generally very highly acceptable in terms of reliability, efficiency, accuracy, usability, while highly acceptable in terms of security and confidentiality. The views of the participants imply that QR code as attendance checker was environment-friendly, cost-effective, user-friendly, innovative, very fast and readable codes. Hence, this study is geared towards evidence-based practice using this type of innovation that will serve as a preference towards continuous improvement and successful adaptation of the QR code that is essential in modifying and simplifying the checking of attendance of students in the classroom.

In this increasingly advanced era, Information Technology (IT) is unavoidable. Everyone is competing to find innovations that can improve their performance. Private Universities (PTS) in Indonesia are no exception. An educational institution's attendance list is the primary reference in monitoring student activities. Although this sector is critical, traditional data collection is still taking place. As a result, many problems arise, such as data loss, long charging times, long queues, overcrowding, and even affects student concentration. ITS NU Kalimantan is one of several private universities in Central Kalimantan and is still relatively new. Student attendance applications are designed and developed for more mature data collection to avoid problems that arise later. This study offers the use of web android-based technology equipped with a QR code feature. Based on the questionnaire results conducted on 45 respondents who used the UAT model, the perceived usefulness aspect was...

Nowadays, smart phones have made everyone's life simpler and easier. This article proposes the use of smart phone-based QR codes to track the attendance of students or employees. Colleges employ mobile attendance systems to reduce the amount of time it takes in recording and maintaining the attendance. Our project combines Google Apps Script and MIT App Inventor to create a mobile attendance system that reduces a lot of paperwork and prevents data loss. On each Student's ID card, a unique QR code will be printed. The QR code mobile app scanner interface is created using MIT App Inventor software. The created Mobile app scanners can now scan and connect with Google Sheets with the help of Google Apps Script platform integrated with Android Barcode Scanner. If the entered data is matched with the data in the database, the system will immediately record the "In time" or "Outtime" of students /employees and display it on the scanner screen. Since the created QR Code Attendance System's portable scanners and database systems are also accessible online by the management, it is extremely practical. Using Google Sheets, one can rapidly generate an accurate attendance report. As a result, the system for tracking student/employee attendance will be more effective and easier to manage. The advantage of using QR Code Attendance System is that it provides an efficient and automated method to track attendance for students using QR Code.

This research paper explores the effectiveness of quick response (QR) codebased attendance systems with the added security measure of generating two QR codes per second. With traditional attendance tracking methods being time-consuming and inefficient, QR codes have become increasingly popular as a quick and efficient alternative. However, one concern with QR codebased attendance systems is the potential for fraud and misuse. To address this issue, this study proposes generating two QR codes per second to ensure that only the current and legitimate QR code is recognized. The purpose of this study is to assess the impact of this technology on student attendance rates, the accuracy and reliability of attendance data, and the overall user experience for both students and instructors. Through data analysis and surveys, we found that the use of QR codes with the added security measure resulted in increased student attendance rates, improved accuracy and reliability of attendance data, and a positive user experience for both students and instructors. This research provides practical insights for educational institutions considering the implementation of QR code-based attendance systems and contributes to the growing body of literature on the use of QR codes in education.

—Smartphones are becoming more preferred companions to users than desktops or notebooks. Knowing that smartphones are most popular with users at the age around 26, using smartphones to speed up the process of taking attendance by university instructors would save lecturing time and hence enhance the educational process. This paper proposes a system that is based on a QR code, which is being displayed for students during or at the beginning of each lecture. The students will need to scan the code in order to confirm their attendance. The paper explains the high level implementation details of the proposed system. It also discusses how the system verifies student identity to eliminate false registrations.

Attendance Monitoring System

The computerized Students monitoring system that researchers developed is definitely for ID and Student’s verification only. The main objective of our system is to check whether the student has an authorized ID or a falsified one and to verify whether the student is properly enrolled in the school. The application of the RFID Matrix card system as a boarding student monitoring system was suggested to improve the management system and to monitor the activity group movement. The unique RFID tags enable management to path the student’s movement in and out of the campus. A particular without RFID card will generate the alarm and this will notify school administration about the availability of using an online monitoring system. This system used the main component of the RFID system, database management system, and wireless networking.

Data security.

A computer security risk is any event or action that could cause loss of or damage to computer hardware, software, data, information, or processing capability. Some breaches to computer security are accidental, others are planned imposition. Some infiltrators do no damage; they merely access data, information or programs on the computer before logging off. Other infiltrators indicate some evidence of their presence either by leaving a message or by deliberately altering or damaging data. Computer systems are vulnerable to many threats which can expose various types of damage resulting in significant losses. Damage can range from minor errors that SAP database integrity to fires which destroy entire computer centers. Losses can stem from the actions of supposedly trusted employees deceive the system to outside hackers roaming freely through the Internet. The exact amount of computer-related losses is impenetrable; many losses are never discovered and others are covered up to avoid adverse publicity. (Rachelle Lucaña, 2012)
