6. SWOT Analysis

A rice mill production business is a capital and labor intensive business, and so would require huge sums to start up. Our awareness of this fact has created in us a resolve to ensure that the business becomes profitable and breaks even in its second or third year.

This is where our experience comes to bear and separates us from newbie entrepreneurs that have no knowledge of the business.

We know how necessary carrying out a SWOT analysis is for any business and while we would attempt to do these ourselves, we also have gotten input from an expert consultant on certain trends. The SWOT analysis that we conducted with input from an external consultant for our Trice Rice Mill Business in Idaho is as follows;

Trice Rice Mill Production Ltd is strategically located close to several large rice farms in Idaho, State; the location is regarded as strength because of the convenience to several strategic customers.

Other strengths of Trice Rice Mill Production Ltd include the offering of additional but related services such as storage facilities, sale of milled rice by-products as well as transport facilities for customers. We also consider our excellent and prompt customer service to be a strength as it offers us a competitive advantage.

Our perceived weakness stems from the fact that we seem to be operating regionally, as it could take a while for us to be seen as a national business instead of a regional business.

  • Opportunities:

Without an iota of doubt there are loads of opportunities in Idaho. The market is a very big one and we would also have the opportunity to market our good to other parts of the United States of America as well as other parts of the world. Our nearness to the big market will be of great advantage while also work   critically at converting potential consumers to actual clients.

There are several threats that face every business and this is the downturn of the economy as well as the arrival of close competitors to the market.

  • Market Trends

The fact that more rice farms are springing up locally has seen more rice mills spring up all over the country to be able to meet the demands of the rice farm owners. This has made the business become more competitive as rice mills strive to leverage on every competitive advantage chief of which is offering additional but related services as well as continually improving on its customer service.

Another trend is to open more storage facilities across different locations, this way customers that are far from the mills do not have to worry about having their products stored so far away. This is a competitive edge over most rice mill production businesses.

8. Our Target Market

In carrying out a thorough research, we were able to site our business in Idaho due to the various rice farms in the state. The location also brings us in close proximity to other states within the region where there are several rice farms as well.

The location will be of immense benefit to rice farm owners as well as wholesalers who get their unmilled rice from other regions; thereby allowing them to quickly cater to the teeming customers that abide.

Our Competitive Advantage

From thorough research and due to the profit viability of this business, several rice mill production businesses have sprung up not only in Idaho but in other regions that are close to offer a stiff competition as well. Idaho has various rice milling production plants as well as several others in other states that are close to it.

Our research did not however look into what sort of completion we were likely to have but also what their weaknesses were so that we could come up with strategies that would ensure we have competitive advantage over them and become the go-to rice mill production plant for our target customers.

One of our competitive advantages is in ensuring that we are strategically located. Our production plant is not only located close to good roads, making it easier for our customers to reach us, but our storage facilities which are spread all over also located in strategic points enabling us to not only attract but retain customers as well.

Another competitive advantage we have is the vast combined experience of the owners who have not only brought this in to bear on the business but have also given them an edge in being proactive in the market by ensuring that unique solutions are given for every challenge and obstacle that arise during the course of running the business.

Asides, from offering additional but related services; we tend to employ the only the best hands to help run the business, but also employees that understand the vision and philosophies of our business and know how this translates to offering the best service to our customers. We intend to ensure that the working conditions for our employees are the envy of other employees from our competitors.

  • Sources of Income

Like every other business, Trice Rice Mill Production was established with the intention of making profit, in the agro-allied industry.

This means that generation of income via several sources is our top priority, and this would be done via our main service as well as other additional but related services that we would be offering as well. We intend to generate income by offering the following services listed below;

  • Rice Milling
  • Sale of milled rice by-products such as rice hull, bran layers, rice germ and fine broken
  • Transport facilities
  • Storage facilities

10. Sales Forecast

The forecast for our sales will largely be hinged on where we are located and this we intend to achieve by being located in an area that is centrally located and easily accessible so as to easily attract more customers especially potential ones. We know that having more customers translates to an increase in generation of revenue.

Asides having a good location, we intend to ensure that our machines and other facilities especially that of storage is not only up to standard but also continually reviewed and inspected by our internal inspectors so that our customers can continue to have faith in our business.

In critically analyzing the agro-allied and processing industry, and after several researches and feasibility study, we have confidently come up with a sales forecast that we feel isn’t extravagant and will moderately serve as a model for us and our stakeholders.

Our several years of experience were brought to bear in the sales projection as we were entitled to several information that is not necessarily available to greenhorn entrepreneurs. Below are the sales projection for Trice Rice Mill Production limited that is based on several factors that relates to small and medium scale enterprises in major countries in the world;

  • First Fiscal Year-: $ 240,000 Dollars
  • Second Fiscal Year-: $ 450,000 Dollars
  • Third Fiscal Year-: $ 750,000 Dollars

The projection done above is strictly based on all factors being equal such as stable economic growth and lack of strong competitors offering same services and products with same location. Our sales forecast is averagely moderate and stakeholders must be warned that depending on how factors change, projections might increase or decrease.

  • Marketing Strategy and Sales Strategy

Our marketing strategy would be hinged on providing standard milling production services as well as additional but related services to our customers. We intend to cultivate a loyal customer base where we not only increase our customer retention but also attract new customers to patronize our services.

We intend to use our loyal customers to get new customers by deploying a referral system that would see the customer get a discount or recognition in return for referring new customers to us.

Other strategies we intend to adopt is in ensuring that we engage existing and potential customers on our social media platforms, and also from time to time give out tips and suggestions that will ensure that the businesses of our clients improve.

We also intend to engage in massive publicity through our website as well as other forums that are agro related so as to garner more customers. Some of the marketing and sales strategies that we will adopt include;

We intend to use conventional and non-conventional means of promoting Trice Rice Mill Production Ltd. We know how important it is for our immediate customers to accept our rice mill and then ensure it is the preferred go-to mill for their rice products.

We know that a good standing in the location where we are based, will invariably affect our other branches that will be in other regions positively.

While we intend to carry out some of the publicity strategies ourselves, we realize that to be able to fully put in our best efforts into the business, we would likely hire a consultant that would help us come up with and deploy the strategies that have been deemed effective.

Some of the publicity and advertising strategies that we intend to deploy for our Trice Rice Mill Production Ltd include;

12. Our Pricing Strategy

We know our important getting the right pricing structure is at Trice Rice Mill Production Ltd. We intend to ensure that there are several pricing packages based on the requirements of our customers and their budget as well.

Our pricing rates will not be done in isolation, as we would check what is being offered by our nearest competitors and ensure that we peg our prices around what is obtainable especially if the pricing is fair, this way we would not unnecessarily create a price war.

Finally, our pricing will also take into account what our cost of production as well as overhead is; this is so that we do not run the business at a loss. We however, would strive to ensure that we minimize cost to the lowest level.

  • Payment Options

We intend to adopt a payment policy that will cater to all the classes of customers that will patronize us at Trice Rice Mill Production Ltd. We intend to make sure that our payment options abide by all the financial rules and regulations of the county where we would be operating from.

Those who would pay offline would need to physically visit our location to obtain a payment voucher which is based on what the requirements of the customer are, as payment differs according to the needs of the customer.

13. Startup Expenditure (Budget)

The cost in starting up any business is usually dependent on the size and scale of the business in question. If you intend to start up a small scale business whose size is small in terms of employees and size of facility, your start-up expenditure cannot then be compared to those who intend to start on a large scale, having a large facility and several machines and also employing several hands.

This invariably means that your start-up budget will depend exactly on what you intend to achieve with your business and the vision you had in mind as regards the business.

Even though the standard milling machine used in rice milling production businesses is basically the same, having more than one of the machine will see your cost tripling. However, costs of the machine and tools to be used are usually the same with few cost difference in-between which would depend on where the machine would be coming in from (foreign country) or locally.

This does not mean that you cannot get the machine for fairly used from other rice mill production plants; however, ensure that the machine is in a good condition so that you don’t end up spending more to fix it up. Regardless of all the above listed factors, there are several basic requirements that you would need to fulfill if you intend to start your own rice mill production business;

  • Business registration and incorporation fees – $750 Dollars
  • Obtaining licenses and permits – $1,300 Dollars
  • Insurance (equipment, vehicle, and workers’ compensation as well as general liability) – $105,600 Dollars
  • Marketing, promotion and publicity expenses for at least six months – $70,000 Dollars
  • Rent and renovation of facility for operation and storage facilities for at least one year – $200,000
  • Cost of hiring a publicity consultant – $2500 Dollars
  • Operational cost for the first three months which would include employee salaries and payment of bills – $10,000 Dollars
  • Start-up inventory – $13,750 Dollars
  • Other start-up expenses (POS Machines, utilities, and stationeries) – $10,000 Dollars
  • Purchase of truck for use in operation – $50,000
  • Purchase of furniture and gadgets (computers, printers, photocopiers) for administrative section – $25,000 Dollars
  • Cost of store equipment (security, ventilation, racks) – $600 Dollars
  • Cost of launching a secure website – $7,000 Dollars
  • Miscellaneous (signage, business cards) – $10,000 Dollars

From the above requirements, an estimate of $305,900 Dollars would be needed in order to successfully set up a standard rice mill production plant in Idaho State. The amount includes the salaries of all employees for the first three months of operations.

Generating Funding/Startup Capital for Trice Rice Mills

We have the sufficient experience to know how important finance is to any business either profit or non-profit. Without finance, an idea remains an idea, and every entrepreneur worth his salt knows that to make an idea become a reality, funds have to be sourced for.

Trice Rice Mill Production Limited is a business owned by two partners with several years of cognate business experience and while it might seem ideal to use funds from their pockets, they would rather intend to lend a huge amount of the equity instead.

Some of the major areas where they intend to source for loans include;

  • Generating a certain amount from personal savings
  • Applying for loan from a commercial bank
  • Approaching willing investors

Part of the equity that has been generated by us for the rice mill production business,  amounts to 200,000 Dollars- and  100,000 each gotten from our personal savings. We intend to source the remaining 200, 000 Dollars from commercial banks or from any willing investor.

14. Sustainability and Expansion Strategy

We do not intend to start a company that will die off anytime soon, and so we have several sustainability strategies in place to ensure that our business lasts as long as we want it to. Our sustainability strategy is in ensuring that the right corporate structure and foundation are in place as this will provide a guide to what we intend to achieve.

We know that happy employees lead to more growth and productivity of any business and so we will ensure that the welfare of our employees remain paramount. We intend to ensure that employees are rewarded based on performance and we also intend to share a certain amount of profit with our management team.

We also intend to ensure that our customer retention strategy is high as we know that our bottom line can only remain healthy if our loyal customers are retained at a 90% rate. Asides, our customers, we also intend to ensure we invest in the business continually, and moderate our expansion so that we do not grow and spiral out of control.

Assess The Necessary Equipment And Resources

When starting a rice milling business, it is crucial to carefully assess the necessary equipment and resources that will be required to operate efficiently.

  • Mill Machinery: The heart of a rice milling operation is the milling machine. Invest in reliable and efficient machinery that can process rice in large quantities. Consider factors such as milling capacity, power consumption, and ease of maintenance when selecting your mill machinery.
  • Drying and Storage Facilities: Proper drying and storage are essential to maintain the quality of rice. Ensure that you have adequate facilities to dry freshly harvested rice and store it in a clean and moisture-controlled environment. This will help prevent spoilage and maintain the freshness and quality of your rice.
  • Packaging and Labeling Equipment: To provide your customers with a professional and appealing product, invest in packaging and labeling equipment. This includes machinery for weighing, bagging, sealing, and labeling the rice packages. Consider the type and size of packaging suitable for your target market.
  • Transportation: Assess the transportation options available to transport your processed rice from the mill to your customers. Depending on the scale of your operations, you may need delivery trucks, vans, or partnerships with logistics companies to ensure prompt and efficient delivery.
  • Quality Control Tools and Equipment: Implement a strong quality control system to ensure that your rice meets the required standards. Consider investing in tools and equipment for testing rice for moisture content, foreign matter, milling quality, and grain size.
  • Human Resources: Evaluate the human resources required for your rice milling business. This includes skilled labor for operating the mill machinery, managing the drying and storage facilities, packaging, and labeling. Additionally, consider hiring quality control personnel to maintain strict quality standards.
  • Utilities and Infrastructure: Assess the availability and adequacy of utilities and infrastructure necessary for your rice milling operation. This includes a reliable power supply, clean water source, proper waste disposal systems, and suitable office spaces.

When starting a rice milling business, it is crucial to be aware of the legal requirements and regulations that govern this industry. Compliance with these regulations is essential to ensure that your business operates legally and avoids any potential problems or penalties. Here are some important steps to consider:

  • Research industry-specific regulations: Begin by researching the specific regulations and requirements for rice milling businesses in your area. This may include obtaining licenses, permits, or certifications, such as a food processing license or a food safety certification.
  • Understand zoning and land use regulations: Determine whether your selected location complies with zoning and land use regulations. Certain areas may have restrictions on operating a rice milling business, so ensure that your chosen location is suitable.
  • Comply with health and safety regulations: Rice milling involves handling and processing food products, so it is essential to comply with health and safety regulations. This may include implementing proper sanitation practices, ensuring the safety of equipment, and maintaining a clean and hygienic processing facility.
  • Follow environmental regulations: Rice milling businesses may have environmental impacts, such as wastewater discharge or waste management. Familiarize yourself with the environmental regulations and take the necessary steps to minimize your business's environmental footprint.
  • Obtain necessary permits and licenses: Depending on your location and the specific activities of your rice milling business, you may need to obtain various permits and licenses. These could include business permits, food handling permits, water discharge permits, or permits for the use of equipment.

Important Tips:

  • Consult with local authorities or regulatory agencies to gain a comprehensive understanding of the specific legal requirements for rice milling businesses in your area.
  • Keep track of any updates or changes in regulations to ensure ongoing compliance with any new requirements.
  • Consider seeking legal advice or assistance from professionals experienced in business regulations to ensure that you have thoroughly addressed all legal aspects of your rice milling operation.

Develop A Pricing Strategy

Developing a strong pricing strategy is crucial for the success of your rice milling business. Your pricing strategy should take into account various factors such as production costs, market demand, competition, and desired profit margins. Here are some important considerations when developing your pricing strategy:

  • Evaluate your production costs: Calculate all the costs involved in the rice milling process, including the cost of raw materials, labor, equipment maintenance, energy consumption, and packaging. Understanding your production costs will help you set a baseline for your pricing.
  • Research the market: Conduct market research to get a clear understanding of the price range of rice milling services in your area. Analyze the pricing strategies of your competitors and identify any gaps or opportunities that you can leverage.
  • Consider value-based pricing: Instead of solely relying on cost-based pricing, consider the value that your rice milling services provide to customers. If you can differentiate your products or offer additional services, you may be able to charge a premium price.
  • Offer pricing tiers: Consider offering different pricing tiers based on the quality or type of rice milling services. For example, you can have a basic package for wholesale buyers and a premium package for food manufacturers who require specialized processing.
  • Provide volume discounts: To encourage larger orders, consider offering discounts for customers who purchase rice in bulk. This can help you attract and retain wholesale buyers who require a consistent supply of rice.
  • Regularly review and adjust your pricing strategy based on market conditions and changes in costs.
  • Consider conducting surveys or focus groups to gather feedback on your pricing from potential customers.
  • Establish clear payment terms and policies to avoid any payment disputes.
  • Seek advice from industry experts or consultants who can provide insights on industry-specific pricing practices.

Be sure to prepare a comprehensive business plan, financial projections, and other necessary documents to support your loan application.
  • Government and Institutional Programs: Explore funding opportunities and grants offered by government agencies and institutions that support agriculture and rural development. These programs often provide financial assistance, training, and resources for startup and expansion of such businesses.
  • Investors and Partnerships: Consider seeking investors or forming strategic partnerships with established businesses in the rice milling industry. This can bring additional capital, expertise, and industry connections to help propel your business forward.
  • Clearly outline the purpose and use of funds when approaching potential funders.

  • by Next What Business Research Team

Starting a rice mill business can be a rewarding and profitable venture. Paddy in its raw form cannot be consumed by human beings. Therefore, it needs to be suitably processed for obtaining rice. 6. Choose a Suitable Location

Select a location with easy access to paddy supply and markets. Ensure it meets zoning requirements and has adequate space for processing and storage.

7. Rice Mill Plant Unit Establishment

First of all, you must figure out the requirement of the area. Generally, it broadly depends on two aspects. Whether the unit will be using a parboiling unit for pre-treatment of paddy before the commencement of milling operation or it will be directly milling raw paddy. Generally, 1.00 to 1.50 acres of land are required for establishing an improved rice milling unit having an installed processing capacity of 2 MT/ hr.

The total power requirement will be to the tune of 75 KW. However, the essential power requirement of the unit is about 90 HP, and accordingly, a suitable standby generator provision is made. Additionally, you have to arrange water for parboiling and domestic consumption purpose. Therefore, you must ensure suitable arrangements for a continuous water supply of desired quality and quantity.

You must build several constructions for different unit activities. Such as raw paddy godown, cleaning unit, drier, and necessary supporting structures such as boiler/blower system, etc., milling section, finished product stores, machine rooms, etc. Additionally, you must maintain Quality Control and Standards as per AGMARK specifications.

8. Buy Machinery

Acquire and install the necessary equipment, including cleaning machines, milling machines, polishers, graders, and packaging machinery.

Some of the basic machinery required for rice mill plant setup is as follows:

  • Raw paddy cleaner cum aspirator consisting of large aspiration of desired suction width. It must be fitted with double fans with necessary damper controls.
  • One rubber roll paddy sheller
  • Paddy Separator to separate unshelled paddy from deshelled paddy.
  • Blowers, husk, and barn aspirators for aspiration of light particles. It also separates husks from dehusked kernels and bran from milled rice.
  • Cone-type paddy polishers
  • Rice grader/ aspirator for purification and grading of polished rice grains
  • Bucket elevators for bulk transport and conveyance
  • Procurement of Raw Materials

9. Production Process

The rice milling unit operation includes several steps. Those are:

  • Pre-Cleaning: Removing all impurities and unfilled grains from paddy
  • De-stoning: Separating small stones from paddy
  • Parboiling: It helps to improve the nutritional quality by gelatinization of starch inside the rice grain. It improves the milling recovery percent during deshelling and polishing/whitening operation
  • Husking: Removing the husk from the paddy
  • Husk Aspiration: Separating the husk from brown rice/ unhusked paddy
  • Paddy Separation: Separating the unhusked paddy from brown rice
  • Whitening: Removing all or part of the bran layer and germ of brown rice
  • Polishing: Improving the appearance of milled rice by removing the remaining bran particles and polishing the exterior of the milled kernel
  • Length Grading: Separating small and large broken from head rice
  • Blending: Mixing head rice with a predetermined amount of broken, as required by the customer
  • Packaging: Package the rice in different quantities, such as bags or sacks, and label them appropriately.

10. Quality Control

Establish relationships with paddy farmers, traders, or cooperatives to ensure a consistent supply of good-quality paddy. Implement strict quality control measures to ensure only high-quality paddy is processed.

11. Evaluate the Costs

Calculate the costs involved in production, including raw materials, labor, machinery maintenance, packaging, and marketing. Set competitive yet profitable prices for your rice products. Create a budget and financial projections for the first few years of operation.

12. Arranging Funds

There are several ways of funding your rice mill business. Some of them are listed below:

  • Personal Savings: Utilize your personal savings to cover initial expenses such as equipment purchases and setting up the infrastructure.

If you are trying to repair extremely poor credit and you can't get a credit card, consider a secured credit card. A secured credit card will give you a credit limit equal to the amount you deposit. It allows you to regain your credit score at minimal risk to the lender.

An important tip to consider when working to repair your credit is to consider paying down your cards that are nearest to their limits first. This is important because having credit cards near their maximum limit is toxic for your credit score. Consider spreading the debt among your other cards or focusing on this card first. This method may not work for everyone.

When working to repair your credit, it's important to consider the different ranges that different reporting agencies use. This is important to know, so that you know the meaning of your own score. The main scores used are FICO: 300 - 850, Experian: 330 - 830, Equifax: 300 - 850, and TransUnion: 300 - 850.

An important tip to consider when working to repair your credit is the importance this holds in your life. This is important because not only is your credit important to potential creditors, but also with potential employers. Depending on the job, your credit may have a very important role in whether or not you are considered.

Since there are so many companies that offer credit repair service, how can you tell if the company behind these offers are up to no good? If the company suggests that you make no direct contact with the three major nationwide consumer reporting companies, it is probably an unwise choice to let this company help repair your credit.

If you are trying to repair your credit, and work out a payment plan with a creditor for lowered payments, be sure to get that payment arrangement in writing. If you are promised one thing by a specific collections agent, there is no guarantee the company will honor that arrangement without a written notice.

Many different things can positively and negatively impact ones credit. In order to repair ones credit they must first know what damaged it in the first place. Once one knows what to avoid they can maintain their credit more easily. By learning from past mistakes one can repair their credit.

Do not live beyond your means. You need to change your way of thinking in this regard. Many people have acquired debts they can't pay off, which has affected the amount others will pay to have credit. Look at your budget, and decide what is realistic for you to spend from month to month.

Did you know that every time you apply for credit, your credit score is damaged a little? Applying for multiple credit cards, loans and other debt can significantly decrease your score, making it difficult to purchase important items later, such as a home or car.

If you have been having trouble paying your bills on time, this will negatively affect your credit score. Maintaining a lengthy history of timely payments is key to establishing a good credit history. The longer you pay your bills on time, the better your score will be. Try to make sure you pay your bills on time each month. Even a single missed payment can hurt.

Help repair your credit by using a pre-paid credit or debit card. Unlike traditional credit cards which actually loan you money, the pre-paid card uses only money you have loaded onto it. This kind of credit card improves credit because there is no debt, or late payments. You can only spend what you have!

Look into government backed loans if you do not have the credit that is needed to go the traditional route through a bank or credit union. They are a big help in home owners that are looking for a second chance when they had trouble with a previous mortgage or loan.

You should repair your credit score because it increases your chances of getting a new job. Many employers use your credit score as a way to determine the trustworthiness of a new employee, or as a determining factor when picking between two choices for a promotion. This is especially true if you work in a government contracted company or in the financial industry.

Be wary of collection agencies that try to talk over you and will not answer your questions. Agencies that are scams will try to keep you off balance by continuously talking without giving you any facts. If they aren't answering your questions and are threatening you, tell them to contact you only in writing.

If you need to repair your credit, you must decide between two options. You could either hire someone, such as an attorney, that would be familiar with the various credit laws, or you could get your three-in-one credit report, and do it yourself following a guide to help you through the process.

An important tip to consider when working to repair your credit is to never use the option to skip a month's payment without penalty. This is important because you should always pay at least the minimum balance, due to the amount of interest that the company will still earn from you.

Using a credit card responsibly can help repair bad credit. Credit card purchases all improve credit history. It is negligent payment that hurts credit ratings. Making day-to-day purchases with a credit and then paying off its balance in full every month provides all of the positive effects and none of the negative ones.

Not many crooks roam the streets of the nation's cities. Many spend their Time in the production plants of organizations. There, disguised as honest citizens, they shoplift and pilfer whatever comes to hand, often tampering with records to cover their thefts. To prevent pilferage, an owner-manager must recognize that some workers Cannot be trusted and make all employees aware that he or she's taking steps to thwart unethical personnel. Such measures include setting up a system of reduction prevention (apparatus and processes ), administering the system , and auditing it often to discourage dishonest employees who try to bypass the machine. To steal or not to steal? That is the question facing workers in plants. Many employees answer that question nearly unconsciously. They view things lying around and pick up them for their own use. They slip small hand tools in their pockets. Or they dip in the bin for A fistful of nuts and bolts or snip off a couple of feet of wire for a home repair job. However, not all employees who pilfer are nickel-and-dime burglars. Some are Professionals who carry off tens of thousands of dollars worth of materials and equipment. 1 reason behind pilferage is misplaced trust. Many owner-managers of small Companies feel close to their employees. Some respect their employees as partners. These owner-managers trust their people with keys, a safe combination, money, and documents. Thus, these workers have the tools that a thief or embezzler Needs for a successful crime. Unfortunately, some of those"trusted" employees in several small businesses Are bigger partners than their bosses anticipate. Unless you're taking active measures to prevent loss from in-plant pilferage, a few are probably attempting to steal your company, little by little, right from under your nose. Few indeed are the companies where unethical workers aren't busily at work. Usually, these employees are protected by management's indifference or ineptitude as they steal a bit, steal a lot, but steal the profit, and then the company itself. Among the first steps in preventing shoplifting and pilferage is really for the Owner-manager to examine the trust he or she puts in workers. Is it blind hope that climbed from close friendships? Or is it hope that is constructed in a liability that reduces chances for thefts? Along with misplacing trust, It's Simple for an owner-manager to create An environment in which dishonesty takes root and thrives. Just relax your accounting and inventory control processes. Nothing deters would-be thieves such as the knowledge that stock is indeed closely controlled that stolen goods will be overlooked quickly. And what about the plant in which its common practice for a close relative or Just two of the boss to help themselves from the stockroom without signing for the things they take? Soon this type of plant becomes a place where stock shrinkage soars as workers get the message that record keeping is loose and controllers are lax. In a production plant, Zero substances and no finished products ought to be Taken without a requisition or a elimination document being made. Exceptions? Absolutely none. Similarly, the owner-manager who does not exercise tight control over Invoices, purchase orders, removals (for instance, for resources, materials, and finished products ), and credits is requesting for embezzlement, fraud, and unbridled theft. Crooked office workers and manufacturing and maintenance employees dream about sloppily kept records and un-watched inventory. Why make their fantasies come true? One shipping platform worker's dream came true to the tune of $30,000 - The total amount of goods he stole from his firm. When caught, he stated,"It was so easy, I truly didn't think anyone cared." Let folks know you care. Make them aware of the stress that you put on loss-prevention. This stage has to be driven home again and again. And with every restatement Of It - if by a security test, a change of locks, the testing of alerts, a systems audit, or a notice on the bulletin board - you can be sure that you are influencing that moment of choice when an employee is faced with all the choice-to slip or not to steal. Also high on the list of invitations to theft is haphazard physical Security. Owner-managers who are casual about issuing keys, locking doors, and changing locks are, in effect, inviting the unethical employee to the plant or office after work. But smart key control and installation of timelocks and alarms are means of serving notice to crooked workers to perform it straight. Sometimes profits go out the window - literally. By Way of Example, one Distributor caught"trusted" workers lowering TV sets and tape recorders out of a third-story warehouse window to confederates below. Unfortunately they were not caught until they had milked their manager of tens of thousands of dollars worth of product. But more often, the industrial burglar employs a door rather than a window. And The doors that a plant gets, the more paths of theft it gives. The plant that's designed for maximum safety will have a minimum number Of doors along with a manager or shield, if justified, stationed near each door. Moreover, a manager should be current when materials or finished goods have been received or sent and when garbage has been eliminated. So long as a door remains open, a responsible employee, a manager, or a protector should be there. Central station alarm systems must be used to shield a plant after hours. Their objective is to record door openings and closings and also to investigate unexpected openings. Timelocks will also be designed to record all of openings. An inventory of door openings could be significant because the dishonest employee Is frequently a professional at"breaking out" (concealing and leaving the plant after closing hours). If your plant isn't protected against break-out, you can be hurt badly because this method of operation allows a thief to work pretty much at their own speed. After-hours thieves put out of commission that the alarm system that works Attractively against break-in. They can often leave by doorways armed with snap-type locks-doors that don't require keys from the interiors. Quickly and easily, they could pass goods outside and then snap doors closed behind them. Hence, they leave no signs. A motion detector, electric attention, or central station alarm will deter such thieves. You can also dissuade break-outs with locks which require keys on both Sides, provided that fire regulations don't prohibit such locks. When products, Materials, or cash are missing and evidence of forced entry is lacking, start To look immediately for the interior burglar, the dishonest employee.

This is why we decided to establish this Rico Rice Mill.

The intended location will be very close to the rice plantations in the area. This will help the rice farmers to have easy access to our services. Aside from helping farmers mill their rice, we also plan to have a livestock feed mill where the byproducts from the milled rice- the husk, bran, and other waste will be used in producing livestock feeds.

We discovered that rice farmers find it challenging to get storage facilities to store their processed rice around. We intend to help them tackle this challenge by making storage facilities available to them at affordable rates.

Though there are rice mills in the area, Rico Rice Mill Company aims to stand out among them all. We intend to do this by providing excellent services for our customers. Also, we plan to penetrate every part of the United States that has rice farms.

Rice Mill Manufacturing Process

Moving to planting, preparation of cultivation requires minimal soil manipulation. If rice will be grown in a hilly area, the area should be kept on roofs. Paddies are dodged and surrounded by dikes or levees with an aide of earth-moving equipment, then plowed fields before planting. Suitable irrigation of the terrace or river delta bed is mandatory and pumping is accomplished by controlling and leveling the water with reservoirs, sutures, and streams.

Rice seeds get wet before sowing. For the level of mechanization and the size of planting, provisional, seeding is done in three ways. In many Asian countries that have not industrialized their agricultural practices, seeds are sown by hand. After 30–50 days of development, transplanting is done from nursery beds into clusters of flooded trees. Seeds can also be sown through a machine called a drill that places the seed into the ground. Large enterprises often sow rice seeds in the United States by airplane. Low-flying aircraft deliver seeds to already flooded fields. An average supply is 90–100 pounds per acre (101–111 kg per hectare), producing about 15–30 plants per square foot.

Harvesting Of RICE IN INDIA

Once the plants have touched full growth (about three months after planting) and the grains begin to ripen – the tops begin to dry and the stem turns yellow – the water drains from the fields. As the fields dry up, the grain ripens more and harvesting begins. It depends on the size of the setup and the amount of mechanization, Rice is also harvested by hand or machine.

Through the hand, the rice stalk is replaced with a sharp knife or sickle. This practice still occurs in many Asian countries. Rice can also be harvested by a mechanized hand harvester or a tractor / horse-drawn machine that cuts and steals rice stalks. If the rice has been harvested by hand or by a semi-automated process, the thrush is terminated by hand or using a mechanized thresher.

First milling, rice grains should be dried between 18-22% to reduce the moisture content. This is done with the help of naturally occurring sunlight, hot air, or more frequently. Rice grains are left on racks in the fields to dehydrate naturally. Once dried, the grain of rice, now called coarse rice, is ready for processing.

The plow can be completed by hand by rolling or grinding rough rice between stones. However, more often it is processed in a mill with the help of automated processes. Rough rice is first cleaned, allowing debris to flow. The blown air extracts the top substance. Once cleaned, the rice is stirred by a machine that mimics the action of hand-made stones. The shelling machine rolls the rice hulls between two sheets of metal and decomposes them. During this process, 80–90% of the kernel hull is removed.

With the shelling machine, the grain and the rudder are transported to a stone reel which aspirates the waste mites and moves the kernels into a machine that separates from the thin grains. After shaking the kernels, the paddy machine services heavy unhealthy grains on one side of the machine, while light-weight rice falls to the other end. Unhealthy grains are then squeezed into additional batches of shelling machines to complete the stirring process. Thin rice grains are known as brown rice.

As it retains the outer bran coating of rice grains, brown rice does not require any other processing. However, with additional vitamins and minerals, bran layers also contain oil that spoils brown rice faster than melted white rice. This is the reason why brown rice is pushed forward to make white rice more visually.

The milling method used to make white rice removes vitamins and minerals mainly found in the outer bran layers. Further handling is often performed to bring nutrients back to the grain. Once complete, the rice is called converted rice.

White rice is converted into one of two methods. Before milling, Rice is immersed under pressure to transfer all the vitamins and minerals from the layers of the bran to the kernel. Once done, the rice is boiled, dried, and then mixed. Rice that has already been mixed can be included in bathing vitamins and minerals that coat the grains. When soaked, they are dried and mixed with uncooked rice. A project report is essential to understand the process of rice manufacturing. So you must download the project report of the rice mill. You can also start flattened rice poha business in the rice Mill as extra product production.

Commercial rice milling systems.

Commercial milling systems mill the paddy in stages, and hence are called multi-stage or multi-pass rice mills. The objective of commercial rice milling is to reduce mechanical stresses and heat buildup in the grain, thereby minimizing grain breakage and producing uniformly polished grain. Compared to village-level systems, the commercial milling system is a more sophisticated system configured to maximize the process of producing well-milled, whole grains.

The rice milling facility comes in various configurations, and the milling components vary in design and performance. “Configuration” refers to how the components are sequenced. The flow diagram below shows a modern commercial mill catering to the higher end market. It has three basic stages,

  • the husking stage,
  • the whitening-polishing stage, and
  • the grading, blending, and packaging stage.

In modern rice mills, many adjustments (e.g. rubber roll clearance, separator bed inclination, feed rates) are automated for maximum efficiency and ease of operation. The whitener-polishers are provided with gauges that sense the current load on the motor drives which gives an indication of the operating pressure on the grain. This provides a more objective means of setting milling pressures on the grain.

Objective of commercial milling

A commercial rice miller will have following objectives:

  • produce edible rice that appeals to the customer - i.e. rice that is sufficiently milled and free of husks, stones, and other non-grain materials
  • maximize the total milled rice recovery out of paddy and minimize grain breakage

Types of commercial mills

- Traditional commercial mill

Traditional commercial mills also consist of different pieces of equipment for the three stages outlined above. They are often made from wood with few metal components and are often driven by a single power source through a system of transmissions. Building such traditional mills was almost considered an art rather than engineering.

- Modern commercial mill

Modern commercial milling lines are fully automated and usually consist of one or more components for each stage of the milling process.

The modern rice milling process

Modern rice milling processes consist of:

The flow diagram below represents the configuration and flow in a typical modern rice mill (using the IRRI rice mill as an example).

Description of flow of materials and processes

1   –  paddy is dumped in the intake pit feeding the pre-cleaner A   –  straw, chaff and empty grains are removed 2   –  pre-cleaned paddy moves to the rubber roll husker: B   –  husk removed by the aspirator 3   –  mixture of brown rice and unhusked paddy moves to the separator 4   –  unhusked paddy is separated and returned to the rubber roll husker 5   –  brown rice moves to the destoner C   –  small stones, mudd balls etc. removed by de-stoner 6   –  de-stoned, brown rice moves to the 1st stage (abrasive) whitener 7   –  partially milled rice moves to the 2nd stage (friction) whitener D   –  Coarse (from 1st whitener) and fine (from 2nd whitener) bran removed from the rice grainduring the whitening process 8   –  milled rice moves to the sifter E   –  Small brokens/brewer’s rice removed by the sifter 9a   –  (for simple rice mill) ungraded, milled rice moves to bagging station 9b   –  (for more sophisticated mill) milled rice moves to the polisher1 10   –  Polished rice, will move to length grader 11   –  Head rice moves to head rice bin 12   –  Brokens moves to brokens bin 13   –  Pre-selected amount of head rice and brokens move to blending station 14   –  Custom-made blend of head rice and brokens moves to bagging station 15   –  Bagged Rice moves to the market

Examples for outputs from the different stages

  • Clean paddy after pre-cleaning

Paddy grain after precleaning. Poor quality grain is evident from its darker color. These are immature kernels or half filled grains that are not removed in the precleaner. The presence of poor quality grain lowers the total milling recovery.

  • Brown rice at the rubber roller husker

Mixture of paddy grain and brown rice coming out of the rubber roll husker. With uniform size paddy, about 90% of the paddy should be husked after the first pass. This mixture goes through a paddy separator, after which the paddy is returned to the husker, and the brown rice goes to a de-stoner.

  • Milled rice after polisher

Milled rice after the 2nd stage friction polisher. Small broken grains are still evident. This product goes to a sifter to remove the small broken grains.

Note: Most mills have several polishing stages for gentle milling. In those mills there is undermilled rice after the 1st stage friction whitener. Not all the bran layers are fully stripped. In times of rice shortage, production of undermilled rice is promoted because of the higher milling recovery.

  • Brewers rice from the sifter

Brewer’s rice or small broken grains removed by the screen sifter.

Rice is classified as Asian rice. It’s botanical names is Oryza sativa. While the African rice is  known as Oryza glaberrima. It’s a cereal grain that grows in swampy areas. Such as in regions with high rainfall but can still be grown in areas with little rainfall through the use of water-controlling terrace systems.  It’s sensitive and requires lots of care and attention to grow well. It takes about 120-200days after planting depending on the areas and other factors for the grains to get ready for harvest.

Local rice cultivation is largely by small-holder farmers. These also get involved in paddy processing by traditional manual means. Very few small scale mills exist. Local rice production and milling is characterized by low capacity and quality issues.

Even if you’re starting with a smaller operation initially, it’s always wise to plan ahead for growth so that you can easily expand without major disruptions down the line. By carefully considering these factors before designing your rice mill layout plant , you can ensure that everything runs smoothly once operations begin!

Understanding the Different Stages of Rice Milling Process

Rice milling is a complex process that involves several stages to transform raw paddy into edible rice. Each stage plays a crucial role in producing high-quality rice with optimal nutritional value and taste. 1. Pre-cleaning: The first step in the rice milling process is pre-cleaning, where impurities such as stones, straw, and dust are removed from the paddy using various cleaning equipment like vibrating screens and de-stoners. 2. Dehusking: In this stage, the outer husk layer of the paddy is removed through mechanical or abrasive methods. This process helps expose the brown rice within. 3. Whitening: To obtain white rice, the brown rice undergoes whitening, which involves removing bran layers from each grain using friction or abrasion techniques.

  • Polishing: After whitening, polishing enhances the appearance and texture of the grains by buffing them with rollers or brushes to remove any remaining bran particles on their surface. 5. Sorting and grading: The final stage involves sorting and grading based on size, shape, color, and quality parameters using electronic sorters or sieves to separate broken grains from whole ones.

Each stage requires specialized machinery designed for specific functions like hullers for dehusking or silky polishers for whitening. Understanding these different stages allows mill owners to optimize their plant layout by placing appropriate equipment at strategic points throughout production lines.

Essential Equipment and Machinery for a Rice Mill Plant

A well-designed rice mill layout requires the right equipment and machinery to ensure efficient processing of the harvested rice. Here are some essential pieces of equipment that every rice mill plant should have: 1. Paddy Separator: This machine separates paddy from the brown rice, ensuring a clean separation and reducing waste. 2. De-stoner: As its name suggests, this machine removes stones and other impurities from the raw material, preventing damage to subsequent processing machines. 3. Husker: The husker is responsible for removing the outer husk layer from brown rice grains, leaving behind white or brown rice kernels. 4. Whitener: After husking, the whitener further refines the grains by removing bran layers on each kernel’s surface, resulting in polished white rice.

  • Polisher: This machine adds shine to polished white rice by friction rubbing against it under pressure, enhancing its appearance and market value. 6. Grader/Sorter: The grader sorts milled rice based on size or quality criteria specified by customers or industry standards. 7. Packaging Machine: To facilitate storage and transportation of processed rice, automatic packaging machines can be used to pack it into bags or containers efficiently. Additionally, other supporting machinery such as conveyors, elevators, blowers/fans for air circulation are necessary to transport materials within the plant effectively. By investing in these essential pieces of equipment and machinery specifically designed for your desired production capacity and output quality requirements you can streamline your milling process significantly!

Optimal Placement of Equipment in a Rice Mill Layout

When designing the layout for your rice mill plant, it is crucial to consider the optimal placement of equipment. This plays a vital role in ensuring smooth and efficient operations, as well as maximizing productivity.

One important factor to consider is the flow of materials and processes within the plant. The layout should be designed in such a way that minimizes unnecessary movement or transportation of materials. By strategically placing equipment such as cleaners, huskers, polishers, and sorters along the production line, you can eliminate bottlenecks and improve workflow. Another aspect to keep in mind is space utilization. Efficient use of available space can help prevent overcrowding and congestion within the plant. It is essential to carefully plan where each piece of equipment will be positioned to optimize both operational efficiency and worker safety. Additionally, noise reduction should also be taken into consideration when determining equipment placement. Noisy machinery should ideally be located away from areas where workers spend most of their time or where quality control inspections take place.

Furthermore, accessibility for maintenance purposes must not be overlooked during layout design. Placing equipment in easily accessible positions allows for quick repairs or replacements if needed, minimizing downtime and maximizing productivity. In conclusion, By considering factors such as material flow, space utilization, noise reduction, and accessibility for maintenance purposes during the design process, you can achieve an optimal placement of equipment in your rice mill layout plant . This will result in streamlined operations and improved overall efficiency.

Adequate spacing: Ensure that there is enough space between different equipment and machinery to prevent accidents or collisions. This includes leaving sufficient room for operators to move around safely. 2. Proper ventilation: Rice milling produces dust, which can pose health risks if not properly controlled. Install effective ventilation systems to minimize airborne particles and maintain good air quality within the facility.

  • Clear signage and markings: Clearly label all equipment, emergency exits, fire extinguishers, and other safety features with highly visible signs. This helps employees easily identify important areas and respond quickly in case of emergencies. 4. Safety guards and devices: Install appropriate guards on machinery to prevent accidental contact with moving parts or exposure to hazardous materials. Additionally, incorporate safety devices such as emergency stop buttons or pull cords for immediate shutdown in case of emergencies. 5. Regular maintenance checks: Establish a routine maintenance schedule for all equipment to ensure their proper functioning and reduce the risk of breakdowns or malfunctions that may lead to accidents.

6.Personal Protective Equipment (PPE): Provide adequate PPE like helmets, gloves, goggles, ear protection etc., for workers who may come into contact with potential hazards such as noise pollution, chemicals or flying debris. Analyses from the study showed that agricultural financing constitutes the greatest challenge that affects rice production and processing. Other findings from the discourse revealed that in some rice producing areas where there is the existence of rice farmers' clusters; there is access to modern rice processing machines such as winnowers, threshers and destoners. The operations of Rice Growers Association of Nigerian-RGAN in Ogun State are coordinated by the executive committee, which constitute the indigenous institutional arrangement. This study recommends that sincere and concerted efforts on the part of the government in implementing the goals of Agricultural Transformation Agenda be made to engender the welfare of rice farmers through the development of the rice value chain. The need for actively involving the rice farmers through the RGAN is also germane. The opportunities identified in the study include: the having 'pool of land' RGAN that enables the rice farmers to form clusters and increase production; creating platform through which the rice growers could leverage upon to facilitate access to inputs and technical support; gaining of visibility and market access to enhance returns on their farming endeavours.

Nigeria is currently the largest rice importer in the world. Hitherto, Indonesia had until 2004 been the worlds largest importer of rice. Today Indonesia has with a sense of patriotism surpassed all odds to become self sufficient in the commodity. Nigeria still imports rice to the tune of 1.8 million dollars alone in 2002. The annual demand for rice in

This study analyzed the profitability of paddy rice production in Chikun Local Government Area of Kaduna State, which identified the different sources of risk involved in its production and also compared the effects of the risk management practices and techniques adopted by farmers in the course of a profitable production. Data were collected from 60 randomly selected paddy rice farmers using a well structured questionnaire and analyzed using the descriptive statistics, gross margin model and multiple regression analysis to determine the socioeconomic characteristics, profitability and relationship between the risk management techniques investigated and the farmer's profit respectively. The result showed that 97% were male, 88% married and had an average household size of 10 people. It was interesting to realize that all respondents had one form of education or the other and their average farm size was 15 ha producing about 3.2 tons of paddy per ha. The average variable cost incurred per hectare was estimated to be $866.3 (N172, 400) while the total cost was $1002 (N199,400) and a revenue of $1768.84 (N352,000) was generated. This puts the gross profit at $902.51 (N179,600) and net returns at $766.83 (N152,600). Several risk classified as technical, market, financial, social and political were identified but majority of the farmers highlighted the technical risk consisting of pest/diseases among others as the major source of risk in paddy production. Practices such as use of agro-chemicals, fertilizer, improved seeds, non-farm businesses, and farm insurance were adopted to mitigate and reduce effects of some of these risks. The regression result showed that farm size, use of agro-chemicals, farm insurance and improved seeds were all positively related to the farmer's income and significant at 5% probability level and (R 2) explained 78% of the total variation in farmer's returns. The use of fertilizer was significant but negatively related to farmer's returns. This could be due to poor application techniques or excess use of it. The formation cooperative society on the other hand was positively related but not significant at 5% probability level. The absence of these risk management techniques indicated a decrease in the net returns by a constant value of (-0.923). This study however concluded that paddy rice production in the study area is a profitable enterprise and consistent government policies that would favor paddy production, market information, extension service delivery, input subsidization and credit facilities should be implemented.

Status paper on Rice is meant to bring together all kinds of information on paddy and rice, which enables a bird’s eye view of pattern, changes, transformation or stagnation. Save Our Rice Campaign (SOR Campaign) feels that this report can also facilitate discussion on innovations, initiatives and policy changes. It is hoped that a perennial status paper can help in building history, record and document current happenings in social, cultural, economic, ecological and political contexts related paddy, rice and their products and also look into the future. This Report is also intended to bring technology, costs, impacts, gender, resources and institutions into discussion. It includes opinions, perspectives and views of different stakeholders. Mapping individual, group and institutional behaviour can help in reviewing performances, role and links. Scope of this information should possibly range from micro to macro, local to global, encompassing all those factors that promote and/or threaten paddy economies and supply chains.

The broad objective of this study was to analyse the structure and conduct of rice marketing in Benue State, Nigeria. A total of two hundred and forty questionnaires were administered to the respondents in the three geopolitical Zones of the State using a multi-stage sampling procedure. The objectives were achieved using descriptive statistics and Lorenz Curve. The study found that majority (65.4%) are small holder farmers with sales income of 200,000 Naira or less per annum. Most respondents are members of marketing associations, source information through middlemen and sell their paddy based on current prices. The results further showed that there is freedom of entry and exit into the market as well as, lack of adequate marketing information. There is inequality in the market power concentration. The Gini Coefficient for Zone A (0.53) is higher than Zone B (0.46) and Zone C (0.46). The market structure was found to be oligopsonistic. Majority of the respondents sell their paddy immediately after harvest, they rely on family or personal sources for business finance, they have attended training related to their business, they sell improved varieties of paddy and they do not collude to fix prices, nor advertise their paddy for sale. The study recommends that government should provide financial support to foster farmer-operated rice processing facilities.

Agriculture has for once been the main source of income in Nigeria, but during the oil boom era, agriculture was sidelined for petroleum products as the major source of income, since then, agricultural products has suffered significant setback as most of our food were imported from foreign countries, apart from the fact that many people are no more interested in agriculture, most youths now migrate to urban centres in search of white-collared jobs. This study thus looks in the impacts of agricultural produce on development using selected rice producing communities of Irepodun/Ifelodun Local Government Area of Ekiti State as case study. It employs the agricultural land use theory and the productivity concept as the basis of its theoretical underpinning. The study involves the use of descriptive research design and the primary source of data collection in a bid to collecting relevant data from producers and consumers using 200 questionnaires. The data collected were presented using the descriptive statistics. The study examines the problems confronting rice production in the study area and suggests recommendations for the remedies of the noted problems. The study will be of great help to researchers and government agencies.

There is the growing concern for food security in Nigeria today, with particular focus on rice being a staple food. If effective policies must be made to improve rice production, it is important to examine the phenomena underlying its consumption in the first place. Therefore, this study evaluated the socioeconomic determinants of local rice consumption in South West Nigeria, using Ekiti state as a reference point. A two stage random sampling technique was used to survey one hundred rice consumer households in two local government areas of Ekiti state. The data for the study were collected with the aid of a structured questionnaire. Descriptive statistics and regression analysis were used for data analysis. The study revealed that 51% of the respondents were between the ages of 31-40 years, 77% were married with a moderate family size of between 5-7 persons. Majority (60%) were civil servants who earned between 30-40,000 naira monthly and spent 10-20% of their income on local rice consumption. The regression analysis showed that, age, marital status, level of education and occupation have positive effects on local rice consumption. Income on the other hand have a negative effect on local rice consumption, an indication that as people’s income rise they tends to shift from local rice consumption to imported rice. It is therefore recommended that improved varieties of rice be provided for farmers coupled with improved rice milling technology and processing facilities to improve the quality of local rice in Nigeria in order to encourage consumer preference. Key words: Socio-economic determinants; Local rice; Consumption; Consumer preference.

This study analysed the performance of paddy rice marketing in Benue State, Nigeria. The population of the study was made up of rice farmers in the three (3) geopolitical Zones of the State. Multi-stage sampling procedure was used for this study. One Local Government Area was selected from each of the geopolitical Zones. A total of two hundred and forty questionnaires were administered to the respondents. The objectives were achieved using descriptive statistics and Gross Margin analysis while the hypotheses were tested using multiple regression analysis, student t-test and Pearson's Product Moment Correlation. Majority (68.1%) of the respondents have attained some formal education, (66.9%) have market experience of over ten years, (50.7%) have household size between 6 and 10, (87.3%) are less than fifty years of age, (89.3%) are male while, (65.4%) are small holder farmers with sales income of 200,000 Naira or less per annum. The study also found that Gross Margin per hectare for paddy production in the study area was 112,123.56 Naira while paddy rice marketing was 126% price efficient. The study accepts the alternate hypotheses that states that: the socioeconomic characteristics of respondents have significant effect on efficiency; rice marketing in Benue State is profitable and the null hypothesis which states that the rice market in Benue State is not integrated. The study recommends that government should rehabilitate rural feeder roads to enable easy movement of produce and provide credit to encourage increase in farm sizes while marketers should form unions to enable them benefit from economy of scale and enrol for training on entrepreneurship.
