The paper is designed to acquaint the researchers about how to write a research report. The paper intends to discuss the common format of research report. There can be several reasons for writing a research report. It can be written for publishing in scholarly journals, peer-reviewed journals, publications and books. The paper will improve our understanding of writing a good academic research report with example of our research topics on various issues. The examples are based on our research on HIV positive people, adolescent health and infertility issues. The primary source of data collection for the paper is our field work.

Nowadays many University students in Tanzania are facing challenges in writing their research reports, be it in government or private Universities. Specifically, students encounter problems in writing and formulating background of the study, statement of the problem, study objectives, literature review and research methodology. Their failure in these preceding chapters, leads to failure in data analysis and presentation, hence shortfalls in discussion and conclusion chapters. Methodologically, the article reviewed some scholarly studies conducted in Tanzania to substantiate the problem and indicate examples on how best the research reports can be written. Apart from narrations given, the article indicates examples with the aim of helping both junior and senior researchers to organize well their research reports in a manner of aligning ideas and chapters within the report. The article will as well help both undergraduate and postgraduate students whose programmes require researches in fulfillment of the requirement, for the award of their particular degrees.

Introduction This report provides an in-depth analysis of the specific area of research that I intend to conduct. 'Madhabi Buch currently has 99%...': 5 key allegations from Hindenburg report on SEBI chairperson, husband's offshore stakes

The report alleges that Blackstone has significant stakes in REITs in India

The new report published by Hindenburg Research has put Madhabi Puri Buch, the chairperson of the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI), at the centre of a growing controversy. Hindenburg has alleged that Madhabi Puri Buch and her husband Dhawal Buch were involved in offshore entities tied to the Adani Group's alleged money-siphoning activities. The couple also held stakes in obscure Bermuda and Mauritius funds, alleged the report.

"Whistleblower documents show that Madhabi Buch, the current chairperson of SEBI, and her husband had stakes in both obscure offshore funds used in the Adani money siphoning scandal," said the report.

The report alleges that Blackstone has significant stakes in REITs in India and that the sector received a fillip during Madhabi’s time at SEBI’s helm.

Here are five allegations highlighted against SEBI chief  Madhabi Puri Buch in the latest document released by Hindenburg Research:

1. The Supreme Court said that SEBI had "Drawn a blank” in its investigations into who funded Adani's offshore shareholders. If SEBI really wanted to find the offshore fund holders, perhaps the SEBI chairperson could have started by looking in the mirror. We find it unsurprising that SEBI was reluctant to follow a trail that may have led to its own chairperson.

2. From April 2017 to March 2022, while Madhabi Buch was a whole time member and chairperson at SEBI, she had a 100% interest in an offshore Singaporean consulting firm, called Agora Partners... On March 16th, 2022, two weeks after her appointment as SEBI chairperson, she quietly transferred the shares to her husband

3. During Madhabi Buch's tenure as a whole time member at SEBI, her husband was appointed as a senior advisor to Blackstone in 2019 He had not worked for a fund, in real estate or capital markets before, per his LinkedIn profile

4. During Dhaval Buch's time as advisor to Blackstone, SEBI has proposed, approved and facilitated major reit regulations changes...These include 7 consultation papers, 3 consolidated updates, 2 new regulatory frameworks and nomination rights for units, specifically benefiting private equity firms like Blackstone... During industry conferences, SEBI chairperson Madhabi Buch has touted REITS as her "Favourite products for the future" and urged investors to look "Positively" upon the asset class... While making those statements, she omitted to mention that Blackstone, who her husband advises, stands to gain significantly from the asset class

White men who have personally experienced mistreatment at work, such as bullying, are more likely to realize that their organization does not always operate fairly. And that makes them more likely to recognize and report race and gender bias against their co-workers, I found in a recent study.

As a sociologist who researches workplace inequality , I wondered whether the way white men in the U.S. are treated at work might be related to whether they recognize sexist and racist incidents that harm their colleagues.

To find out, I analyzed data from over 11,000 federal employees , including 5,011 white men employed by 28 government agencies, collected for a survey that measures the government’s progress toward eliminating personnel policy violations.

I found that although white men are mistreated less often than women and people of color, about 1 in 3 of them experienced some instance of bullying, intimidation or other form of harassment in the two years prior to the study. In comparison, 44% of white women, 49% of women of color and 35% of men of color experienced some form of harassment.

It turned out that white men who were targets of harassment were 70% more likely than other white men in their workplaces to recognize gender bias among their colleagues. They were 58% more likely to recognize bias against their racial or ethnic minority colleagues. They were also nearly twice as likely to have reported race and gender bias to their supervisors and colleagues when they witnessed it.

Why were white men who had been harassed more sensitive to bias in their workplace?

I found that they tended to be more skeptical that their organization worked fairly. For example, only one-third of white men who experienced harassment agreed with this statement: “Recognition and rewards are based on performance in my organization.” In contrast, two-thirds of white men who had not experienced harassment agreed with it. The skepticism among those who had experienced mistreatment increased their tendency to recognize and report bias against their colleagues.

Importantly, these patterns existed whether white men thought they were the target of harassment because of a social characteristic – such as their age, religion or sexual identity – or because of more idiosyncratic personality conflicts.

Why it matters

Many white men believe that their workplace operates according to merit : that people who are better at their jobs get promoted, while those who aren’t get demoted or fired. Yet race and gender bias are startlingly common in U.S. workplaces: More than 4 in 10 women have experienced gender discrimination, and 41% of Black workers have experienced racial discrimination at some point in their careers.

Rooting out gender and racial bias from the workplace requires the support of white men . Yet white men tend to stand up or speak out only to the extent they recognize the existence of bias in their workplaces and are willing to do something about it.

In recent years, there have been many efforts to identify the best strategies for reducing prejudice in the workplace. My findings suggest that encouraging white men to reflect on their own negative experiences at work may make them more open to acknowledging the mistreatment of colleagues.

What still isn’t known

I believe that it’s important for scholars to look into why white men who experience harassment become better allies when their colleagues who are women or people of color are mistreated on the job. It’s also worthwhile for researchers to explore whether patterns like the one I identified exist for other groups and in other contexts – including in other countries.

The Process • Choose a topic • Gather materials • Narrow the topic • Formulate a research question • Research in-depth • Write the introduction and thesis • Write the body • Write the conclusion • Write the bibliography

Choose a topic • Choose a topic in your field of study. Write about something you are interested in to lead you to a question you have about something particular in your field.

Gather materials • Once you have chosen a general topic, gather materials (periodicals, scholarly articles, lecture videos, professional articles) to explore information that exists on your topic. • Take notes on the information you find and keep a list of all materials in a ‘dump document’.

Narrow your topic • Assume your topic is too broad. When a topic is too broad, it will not allow you to do an in-depth analysis and demonstrate critical thinking. • In graduate writing you need a narrowed topic in order to explore the topic in detail.

Formulate a research question • Develop a question or discover a controversy related to your topic to show your perspective. • Your job is to present your own perspective and use the research to support your idea. • This question will be the springboard for the thesis.

In-depth research • Search the databases for scholarly and professional articles on your narrowed topic. • You need to collect and refer to a minimum of four articles in your research paper. • You may find the need to narrow your topic even more as you complete your in-depth research. • Write a source list with annotations.

Write your introduction • The introduction to your research paper will present the overall topic and your thesis, the key argument you want to prove in your paper. • The introduction can include the following • First, an attention getter on the general topic or an extended definition of the key topic. • Second, the supporting sentences with general background information on the topic • Last, a thesis with the main argument of the paper.

The thesis • The thesis is one or two complete sentences at the end of the introduction that express the key argument you will prove in your paper. • The thesis must be • clear and direct - not vague language • a statement that is not posed as a question • in third person only

Body paragraphs • The body of the research paper includes three sections. • Literature review – summarize what the current research shows in relation to your topic. • Presentation of your view – explain and develop the support for your ideas on the topic. • Implications/effects of your view – explain the effects/results and the importance of your idea.

Conclusion • The conclusion is your last effort to convince the reader that your idea is valid. • Write strong, direct sentences that give the main points of your paper and propose what may happen in the future. • Do not give new points in the conclusion. • Do not begin the conclusion with overused transitions, such as ‘In conclusion’ or ‘In summary’; use a concluding phrase instead.

Bibliography and citations • The bibliography is a list of all sources used to write your research paper. • The bibliography and all in-text citations must be in APA style.

How long was Walz in the military?

Walz served in the military for 24 years, enlisting in the Nebraska National Guard at 17 in 1981 and then transferring to the Minnesota National Guard in 1996. He retired in 2005 to begin his successful run for the U.S. House, representing Minnesota as command sergeant major, among the highest ranks for enlisted soldiers. His battalion went on to deploy to Iraq shortly after Walz's retirement.

Walz specialized in heavy artillery and had proficiency ribbons in sharpshooting and hand grenades.

But during the 21 years that Walz spent working with large artillery pieces, he suffered hearing loss and tinnitus in both ears, Minnesota Public Radio reported. He was allowed to continue his service after undergoing surgery, which partially resolved his hearing loss.

Where did Walz serve, and what did he do in the National Guard?

During his service, Walz responded to natural disasters, including floods and tornadoes in Minnesota and Nebraska, and was deployed overseas for months at a time, according to MPR.

In 2003, he was sent to Italy, where he served with the European Security Force to support the war in Afghanistan. He was also stationed in Norway for joint training with other NATO militaries.

Walz told MPR that he reenlisted in the National Guard after the September 11 attacks but never saw active combat in his years in the military.

Stars and Stripes reported in 2020 that Walz credited his Army experience with helping him steer Minnesota through the COVID-19 pandemic as governor.
