Research Assistant in Psychology

Are you interested in the intersection between neurodivergence, language processing and spirituality? Would you like to be part of a team of academics from psychology, philosophy and religious studies from Universities across the UK? 

The UoL has been awarded a large grant entitled ‘God, Language and Diversity: Multilingualism, Neurodiversity and Spiritual Flourishing’ funded by the John Templeton Foundation. This grant brings together five subprojects from around the UK looking at topics such as autism, dyslexia, aphasia, mutism and multilingualism. You will play a key role in delivering the (insert project name) subproject working with Drs Nash & Leidenhag. You will be involved in recruiting participants, data collection, data entry and dissemination activities.  

We are looking for someone who has a background in psychology research methods, who is personable, open minded and compassionate towards neurodivergent individuals, and who is able to work independently in a well-organised manner.

About the NIHR Leeds BRC

Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust (LTHT) in partnership with the University of Leeds (UoL) has been awarded a National Institute for Health and Care Research (NIHR) Leeds Biomedical Research Centre (BRC) with funding of £19.8million for five years . This exciting investment in translational medicine represents a threefold increase in our previous funding and provides a unique opportunity to drive research which makes a difference to the health and wealth of the United Kingdom, but also to our local community.

Building on our existing strength in musculoskeletal disease and engagement with patients and the public who are at the heart of all our activities, the new NIHR Leeds BRC now includes research in surgical technologies, haematology (with the University of York), cardiometabolic disease, pathology, and antimicrobial resistance.

Our vision is to improve health and wellbeing by accelerating diagnosis, enabling early treatment that is personalised for each patient and, where possible, prevent disease and infection. Patient Care Technician

Job Posting for Patient Care Technician at DaVita Kidney Care

• No Dialysis experience is required.
• Training may take place in a facility or a training clinic other than your assigned home clinic
• Potential to float to various clinics during and after your training
• You must have a flexible schedule and be able to work mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays
• Direct Patient Care. Spend the majority of your day in direct one-on-one patient care to provide safe, comfortable and hygienic dialysis treatment.
• Our PCTs care for multiple patients.
• Technician Duties. To monitor patients before, during and after dialysis treatment including measuring and recording stats, patient observations, and hemodialysis machine setup. Please note you will have exposure to blood and needles.
• Building long-term relationships with your patients who are suffering from end stage renal disease and are receiving treatment on average 3 times/week. You will also be responsible for educating patients on Kidney Dialysis related topics.
• Team. Cross functional team of clinicians including technicians, nurses, dietitians, social workers and leadership. PCTs work under the supervision of a RN.

• Willingness to train and work across multiple clinics within the territory as needed.
• Health care experience a plus including: BONENT Certified, Certified Hemodialysis Technician (CHT), Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), Certified Medical Assistant (CMA), or Phlebotomy certification.
