Not Showcasing a Passion for the Industry and Customer Satisfaction : Restaurant supervisors play a crucial role in ensuring customer satisfaction and maintaining high-quality service. It's important to convey your passion for the industry and your commitment to providing exceptional customer experiences. Avoid generic statements and instead, provide specific examples of times when you went above and beyond to exceed customer expectations or implemented initiatives to improve customer satisfaction.

Neglecting to Address Any Gaps or Concerns : If you have any gaps in your employment history or concerns that may raise questions for potential employers, it's important to address them in your cover letter. Be honest and transparent about any gaps and explain how you used that time to develop relevant skills or knowledge. Address any concerns head-on, highlighting your willingness to learn and grow in the role.

By avoiding these common mistakes, you can create a strong and impactful cover letter that highlights your qualifications, experience, and passion for the restaurant industry.

In conclusion, a well-crafted cover letter is essential for restaurant supervisor positions. It serves as an opportunity for applicants to showcase their relevant skills, experience, and passion for the industry. By following the examples provided in this article, job seekers can create strong cover letters that will significantly improve their chances of securing an interview and ultimately landing their desired role in the restaurant industry.

How to write an effective restaurant manager cover letter

Restaurant managers have many essential responsibilities within the service industry including managing staff, resolving customer conflicts, and ensuring a restaurant operates smoothly. To become a restaurant manager, you must write a cover letter that captivates the attention of employers.

In this guide, we will teach you how to write an effective cover letter as a restaurant manager in 5 easy steps. Keep reading to learn all about:

  • How to craft your restaurant manager header & headline
  • Why you should tailor your cover letter for each specific employer
  • What details you need to include in your cover letter introduction
  • Ways to describe your skills & accomplishments as a restaurant manager
  • How to give your restaurant manager cover letter a persuasive conclusion

1. How to craft your restaurant manager header & headline

The first step any restaurant manager must take when writing a cover letter is to create a header and headline. These are important elements that help create a strong first impression on employers .

Your cover letter header is the first bit of information an employer will see and is located at the very top of the document. This header should include:

  • Your name and professional title
  • Your professional contact information
  • The name of the restaurant or establishment you are applying to
  • The address of the restaurant or establishment

Here is an example of a well-formatted restaurant manager header

Jack Jills , Restaurant Manager

(123) 456-7890 | [email protected] | linkedin.com/in/jack-jills

To: Mountain Top Restaurant & Resort Management Department 1234 Street Address Denver, CO, 80014

With your header in place, you will now create your cover letter headline – a short title statement that should include:

  • A keyword related to the position
  • An eye-catching number or trigger word
  • A powerful adjective or verb
  • A promise to the employer that the letter is written specifically to them

Here is an example of an effective restaurant manager headline, followed by a brief breakdown of its main parts

2. Why you should tailor your cover letter for each specific employer

After you have finished up your header and headline, you will now begin the tailoring process for your cover letter . To tailor a cover letter means to edit the information and details to be as relevant to a specific employer as possible, requiring you to research the restaurant thoroughly .

As you research the restaurant, look for key details such as:

  • What the company’s values and current goals are
  • What the company looks for in its staff members
  • Who at the company is responsible for reviewing job applications

This last detail will be used to create a personalized greeting – a type of greeting that addresses a specific person by name – that indicates to the employer the level of research you have completed.

Here are 3 examples of personalized cover letter greetings

  • Dear Mrs. Jane Doe,

Dear Restaurant Supervisor Jane Doe,

  • To Mrs. Jane Doe & the Management Team,

3. What details you need to include in your cover letter introduction

To make a restaurant manager introduction compelling, you must include:

  • An overview of your professional history (years of experience, specializations, etc.)
  • An opening statement on why you are a great fit for this company
  • A mutual acquaintance (when possible) – including a mutual acquaintance can be a major power move, as it provides the employer with a trusted professional reference immediately.

Pro Tip: To grow your professional network and gain more potential mutual acquaintances, build a professional profile on LinkedIn and connect with colleagues in your industry.

As you describe your skills and accomplishments , make sure to include details that are highly relevant, contextual, and quantifiable. Remember that this information shows the employer the value you can bring to their restaurant, so make it as specific as possible.

Here is an example of how to describe an accomplishment in a restaurant manager’s cover letter

As a restaurant manager at [Former Employer], one of my core objectives set forth by my former employer was to find ways to cut back on staffing expenses. By re-organizing the seating arrangements and developing a new schedule with more efficient shift blocks, I was able to reduce staffing expenses by 45%.

5. How to give your restaurant manager cover letter a persuasive conclusion

To conclude your restaurant manager cover letter, you need a persuasive closing statement that includes:

  • An enthusiastic sentence saying you are looking forward to hearing from them
  • How and when they can contact you
  • When you intend to follow up
  • A formal sign-off

Here is an example of an effective closing statement from a restaurant manager's cover letter

If selected as your new restaurant manager, I am confident I can provide your team with the support and leadership needed to succeed. I greatly look forward to hearing from you and am available Mondays through Saturdays from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. The best way to reach me is at (123) 456-7890. I plan to follow up next Wednesday if I have not yet heard back.

Warm Regards,

“Cover up place” Review of Kavkazskaya Plennitsa

I really have to give this restaurant a very bad rating. It looks good, the decoration is really nice. The Russian nouveau riche hanging around in white suits made me feel a little uncomfortable. But were i came for was the the food of course. Not bad but highly overpriced, so was the wine. For the staggering amount of money I expected at least something decent. The food came after more than one hourwhile there were only a few other custumers mer!!! The waiter treated us like [--]. He was annoyed that we would choose the more affordable dishes and drinks. And at the end when we gave him tip of 800 rubles (20 euro!!), he dared to intimidate me and my people and told us that it wasn't enough. "Europeans should tip more, I am no dog were his words". Well this is probably a sort of moneylaundringplace of some oiltrading guy. Never I had such a bad taste in my mouth after a dinner than at this place. I am sorry but I have to be honest.

Dear Jeronimo d! On behalf of the restaurant's management I would like to thank you for the honest review. We value our reputation and always monitor the quality of service. I apologize for what happened with you here and personally invite you to the restaurant again. I will do the best to make your visit pleasant. Could you clarify exactly when you visited the restaurant to find out the details? My e-mail: [email protected] Best regards, Sergey Senichev, General Manager, Kavkazskaya Plennica

We were very surprised that they have 30% discount for all the menu (includin' drinks) at lunch time. The prices there a bit expensive (as all good in Moscow) but with day discount we could get a good price! We went there with 3 of us at 3 pm and ordered shashlyk. It was a bit expensive - 1000 RUB with discount but veeeery tasty and probably the best grill that i ever tasted in Moscow! It was worth to try it! The salad was nice but nothing special. with my discount i saved about 900 rub :)

I like to go on the summer veranda of the restaurant on Fridays. The live music (lounge, art jazz, chanson de a mour) create a comfortable atmosphere. I recommend homemade cutlets and a variety of green salads - all mouthwatering.

The best caucasian cuisine in Moscow, all dishes are so tasty and fresh. fantastic BBQ caucasian style! love the atmosphere of old popular sovet movie! must visit!

This place is for fans of USSR and for fans of Soviet Comedy Films

I just got an email from Marriott Aurora advising me that they will charge 3000 Russian Rubles per person to send me the visa support letter/invitation. I'm not sure if this is the actual price, a typo or an employee of the hotel trying to pull a fast one on me but charging $100 per person to send an invitation letter sounds insane!

I emailed him back to confirm if my understanding was correct or not so we'll see. The visa agency here in NY offered to do it for us for approx. $20/per person but I was just curious to see what the Marriott charged.

Just wondering what other guests of this hotel paid for their support letters.

' class=

Can't help you with the Marriott but the Comfort Hotel in St Petersburg recently charged us 600 roubles each.....

That sounds rediculous to me. I personally would push back hard, or source an invitation some other way.

I completely agree. I'm just going to get my letters from the same people that will handle my visa processing.

I had made the reservations directly with Marriott via their website. Other posters have indicated that they weren't charged anything by the hotel for these letters which leaves me to wonder if someone there is trying to pull a scam and pocket some extra money. I will certainly bring this to the general manager's attention.

Very strange indeed!

free restaurant supervisor cover letter

The Marriott Aurora charges all sorts of mad prices. I'd avoid the bar and restaurant there as the prices are extortionate. Location and rooms are good though.

Yeah, that's why we decided to spend the extra and stay on the executive floor. Hopefully, it'll be worth it.

I just emailed the Aurora's concierge again to verify the cost. So far 2 people from Marriott's corporate have verified that it is in fact $100/per person but other posters that have recently stayed there said that they weren't charged anything.

I don't even know if we even need it since we'll be there for only 3 business days and 2 days over the weekend but I wanted to be safe.

Believe me you'll need even if you wanna stay 5 minutes in Russia cause they wont give you the visa without the invitation letter and without a visa you won't get into Russia, no matter for how long!

I have already gotten my visa but it was obtained with invitation letters from the previous hotel that I was planning on staying in (the Delta-Gamma). We switched to the Marriott because we decided to stay closer to the city center and tourist sites.

The agency is right - once you have got your visa you can stay wherever you want - no one has any way of knowing what kind of letters and from whom you have enclosed with your visa application - it's not written in the visa - it just says RUSSIA.

Thanks, that's great news! When you register with the hotel, exactly what do you have to give to them. Is it just our passport and the Russian visa that's attached inside? Or do they need to see the invitation letter as well?
