Our Creating Audio or Visual Presentations lesson plan teaches students strategies for creating an audio or visual presentation step-by-step. During this lesson, students are asked to use their creativity and work collaboratively with a partner to create their own public service announcement, complete with a storyboard and script, which they will then record for the class. Students are also asked to read a paragraph and answer questions about how the subject of the paragraph could have improved upon a presentation that they gave (i.e., “Did Ron really need a script? Explain your answer.”).

At the end of the lesson, students will be able to create an audiovisual presentation from stories, poems, or other topics and will understand how visual or audio components in a presentation are designed to engage the audience and enhance the text.

This article discusses: (1) to what extent the use of videos and SQ3R method improves the students’ ability in reading narrative text; and (2) to describe the class climate when videos and SQ3R method are implemented in the reading class. The qualitative data were obtained by observation, interview, and questionnaire. And they were analyzed through: get to know the data, focus the analysis, categorize information, identify patterns, connection within and between categories, and interpretation. While the quantitative data were obtained by using test and analyzed by using formulas. The research result shows that (1) the use of video through SQ3R method improves the students’ reading skill; and(2) the use of video through SQ3R method leads the class climate of reading class better than the situation prior to the research implementation. This study aims to investigate the effectiveness of using audio-visual aids to develop reading fluency and comprehension among English language students of the University of Jeddah. This quantitative research employed a quasi-experimental method. Data were collected from a reading comprehension test and a reading fluency test, measuring students’ word count per minute. Participants were divided into four groups, two each (a control group and experimental group) of men and women students. The purpose of the study is to improve the reading comprehension of Grade Three students using audio-assisted technology. This study was conducted at Doña Julita M. Gatuslao Memorial School during the school year 2023-2024 and participated by thirty-three (33) Grade Three pupils who were selected using total enumeration while ten (10) students were selected purposively for a semi-structured interview. The researchers employed a one-group experimental design, utilizing pre-test and post-test measures to assess the effects of the intervention on participants' reading comprehension. The Revised Philippine Informal Reading Inventory (PHIL-IRI) was used to measure reading comprehension. In addition, a descriptive qualitative design was employed to ascertain students' experiences with the intervention for eight weeks. An interview guide was implemented to elicit students' experiences, and its validity was confirmed by three panels of evaluators. Before the intervention, the student's reading comprehension level was categorized as frustration, indicating that they struggled with reading. However, after the introduction of audioassisted technology, the student's reading comprehension level improved to an instructional level. Additionally, there was a significant difference in the students' reading comprehension levels before and after the intervention, suggesting the effectiveness of the intervention. Furthermore, the students expressed a preference for using technology in reading over traditional methods. They listened attentively when new technologies were used for teaching reading and enjoyed and engaged in reading when technology was integrated into their learning. Based on these findings, the researchers recommend that teachers utilize audio-assisted technology as it yields promising results in improving reading comprehension.

In this modern era where the teaching-learning process is rapidly changing various new methods and techniques have entered in the field of education. One of these methods is the use of audiovisual aids. Audiovisual education has enabled teachers to convert monotonous learning environment of the classroom into an interesting and effective phenomenon. By stimulating multiple senses these audiovisual aids enhance students' analytical and critical thinking thereby improve their comprehension skills and make learning permanent. The current study is a quasi-experiment with 'One-Group Pretest-Posttest Design' which investigates the effectiveness of audiovisual aids on secondary school students' ability to elicit meaning from the text. Study population was consisted of 40 secondary school students. Students were subjected to a 'theme-based comprehension' test twice, before and after exposure to an audiovisual clip. An evaluation of both answers of each participant was held by comparing them with the four predefined possible themes. Likert Scale based rating of both answers of every participant was then performed and each of these two answers was assigned a score (i.e., level of comprehension 1, 2, 3, and 4). The pre and post intervention results were analyzed using paired samples t test. The results suggest that audiovisual aids are effective in increasing the students' ability to comprehend meaning from the text as indicated in the significantly improved meaning-extraction-ability scores for post-intervention assessment. But the underlying cause of improvement is still unclear i.e., to what extent the individual comprehension skills namely, prediction-ability; visualizing-power; questioning-ability; connecting-skill; identification-power; inference-power and evaluation-capacity were improved.
