Narrated Abu Hurairah: The Prophet صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم said: A man follows the religion of his friend; so each one should consider whom he makes his friend.

ابوہریرہ رضی الله عنہ کہتے ہیں کہ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: ”آدمی اپنے دوست کے دین پر ہوتا ہے، اس لیے تم میں سے ہر شخص کو یہ دیکھنا چاہیئے کہ وہ کس سے دوستی کر رہا ہے“ ۱؎۔ امام ترمذی کہتے ہیں: یہ حدیث حسن غریب ہے۔

ابوہریرہ رضی اللہ عنہ کہتے ہیں کہ نبی اکرم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: آدمی اپنے دوست کے دین پر ہوتا ہے، لہٰذا تم میں سے ہر شخص کو یہ دیکھنا چاہیئے کہ وہ کس سے دوستی کر رہا ہے ۔

حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بَشَّارٍ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو عَامِرٍ، وَأَبُو دَاوُدَ،‏‏‏‏ قَالَا:‏‏‏‏ حَدَّثَنَا زُهَيْرُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ، حَدَّثَنِي مُوسَى بْنُ وَرْدَانَ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ:‏‏‏‏ الرَّجُلُ عَلَى دِينِ خَلِيلِهِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَلْيَنْظُرْ أَحَدُكُمْ مَنْ يُخَالِلُ ،‏‏‏‏ قَالَ أَبُو عِيسَى:‏‏‏‏ هَذَا حَدِيثٌ حَسَنٌ غَرِيبٌ.

Hadith About Limits of Friendship 3. دوستی کس حد تک رکھنی چاہئے

Muhammad bin Sirin narrated from Abu Hurairah - and I think he (narrated it from the Prophet) who said: Love your beloved moderately, perhaps he becomes hated to you someday. And hate whom you hate moderately, perhaps he becomes your beloved someday.

ابوہریرہ رضی الله عنہ کہتے ہیں کہ نبی اکرم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: ”اپنے دوست سے اعتدال اور توسط کے ساتھ دوستی رکھو شاید وہ کسی دن تمہارا دشمن ہو جائے اور اپنے دشمن سے اعتدال اور توسط کے ساتھ دشمنی کرو شاید وہ کسی دن تمہارا دوست بن جائے“۔ امام ترمذی کہتے ہیں: ۱- یہ حدیث غریب ہے، ہم اسے صرف اسی سند سے جانتے ہیں، ۲- یہ حدیث ایوب کے واسطہ سے دوسری سند سے بھی آئی ہے، حسن بن ابی جعفر نے اپنی سند سے اس کی روایت کی ہے، جو علی کے واسطہ سے نبی اکرم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم تک پہنچتی ہے، یہ روایت بھی ضعیف ہے، اس روایت کے سلسلے میں صحیح بات یہ ہے کہ یہ علی سے موقوفا مروی ہے اور یہ ان کا اپنا قول ہے۔

حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو كُرَيْبٍ، حَدَّثَنَا سُوَيْدُ بْنُ عَمْرٍو الْكَلْبِيُّ، عَنْ حَمَّادِ بْنِ سَلَمَةَ، عَنْ أَيُّوبَ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ سِيرِينَ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، أُرَاهُ رَفَعَهُ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ أَحْبِبْ حَبِيبَكَ هَوْنًا مَا عَسَى أَنْ يَكُونَ بَغِيضَكَ يَوْمًا مَا، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَأَبْغِضْ بَغِيضَكَ هَوْنًا مَا عَسَى أَنْ يَكُونَ حَبِيبَكَ يَوْمًا مَا ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ أَبُو عِيسَى:‏‏‏‏ هَذَا حَدِيثٌ غَرِيبٌ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏لَا نَعْرِفُهُ بِهَذَا الْإِسْنَادِ إِلَّا مِنْ هَذَا الْوَجْهِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَقَدْ رُوِيَ هَذَا الْحَدِيث عَنْ أَيُّوبَ بِإِسْنَادٍ غَيْرِ هَذَا، ‏‏‏‏‏‏رَوَاهُ الْحَسَنُ بْنُ أَبِي جَعْفَرٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَهُوَ حَدِيثٌ ضَعِيفٌ أَيْضًا، ‏‏‏‏‏‏بِإِسْنَادٍ لَهُ عَنْ عَلِيٍّ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَالصَّحِيحُ عَنْ عَلِيٍّ مَوْقُوفٌ قَوْلُهُ.‏‏‏‏

Hadith About Example of Bad and Good Friend 4. اچھے اور برے دوست کی مثال

Narrated Abu Musa: The Prophet said, 'The example of a good pious companion and an evil one is that of a person carrying musk and another blowing a pair of bellows. The one who is carrying musk will either give you some perfume as a present, or you will buy some from him, or you will get a good smell from him, but the one who is blowing a pair of bellows will either burn your clothes or you will get a bad smell from him.

Narrated Anas ibn Malik: The Prophet صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم said: A believer who recites the Quran is like a citron whose fragrance is sweet and whose taste is sweet, a believer who does not recite the Quran is like a date which has no fragrance but has sweet taste, a profligate who recites the Quran is like basil whose fragrance is sweet but whose taste is bitter, and the profligate who does not recite the Quran is like the colocynth which has a bitter taste and has not fragrance. A good companion is like a man who has musk; if nothing of it goes to you, its fragrance will (certainly) go to you; and a bad companion is like a man who has bellows; if its (black) root does not go to you, its smoke will (certainly) go to you.

ہم سے محمد بن علاء نے بیان کیا، کہا ہم سے ابواسامہ نے بیان کیا، ان سے برید بن عبداللہ نے، ان سے بردہ نے اور ان سے ابوموسیٰ رضی اللہ عنہ نے کہ نبی کریم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا کہ نیک اور برے دوست کی مثال مشک ساتھ رکھنے والے اور بھٹی دھونکنے والے کی سی ہے ( جس کے پاس مشک ہے اور تم اس کی محبت میں ہو ) وہ اس میں سے یا تمہیں کچھ تحفہ کے طور پر دے گا یا تم اس سے خرید سکو گے یا ( کم از کم ) تم اس کی عمدہ خوشبو سے تو محظوظ ہو ہی سکو گے اور بھٹی دھونکنے والا یا تمہارے کپڑے ( بھٹی کی آگ سے ) جلا دے گا یا تمہیں اس کے پاس سے ایک ناگوار بدبودار دھواں پہنچے گا۔

انس رضی اللہ عنہ کہتے ہیں کہ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: ایسے مومن کی مثال جو قرآن پڑھتا ہے اس نارنگی کی سی ہے جس کی بو بھی اچھی ہے اور جس کا ذائقہ بھی اچھا ہے اور ایسے مومن کی مثال جو قرآن نہیں پڑھتا اس کھجور کی طرح ہے جس کا ذائقہ اچھا ہوتا ہے لیکن اس میں بو نہیں ہوتی، اور فاجر کی مثال جو قرآن پڑھتا ہے، گلدستے کی طرح ہے جس کی بو عمدہ ہوتی ہے اور اس کا مزا کڑوا ہوتا ہے، اور فاجر کی مثال جو قرآن نہیں پڑھتا، ایلوے کے مانند ہے، جس کا ذائقہ کڑوا ہوتا ہے، اور اس میں کوئی بو بھی نہیں ہوتی، اور صالح دوست کی مثال مشک والے کی طرح ہے، کہ اگر تمہیں اس سے کچھ بھی نہ ملے تو اس کی خوشبو تو ضرور پہنچ کر رہے گی، اور برے دوست کی مثال اس دھونکنی ( لوہے کی بٹھی ) والے کی سی ہے، کہ وہ اگر اس کی سیاہی سے بچ بھی جائے تو اس کا دھواں تو لگ ہی کر رہے گا۔

حَدَّثَنَا مُسْلِمُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏حَدَّثَنَا أَبَانُ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ قَتَادَةَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ أَنَسٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ:‏‏‏‏ مَثَلُ الْمُؤْمِنِ الَّذِي يَقْرَأُ الْقُرْآنَ مَثَلُ الْأُتْرُجَّةِ رِيحُهَا طَيِّبٌ وَطَعْمُهَا طَيِّبٌ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَمَثَلُ الْمُؤْمِنِ الَّذِي لَا يَقْرَأُ الْقُرْآنَ كَمَثَلِ التَّمْرَةِ طَعْمُهَا طَيِّبٌ وَلَا رِيحَ لَهَا، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَمَثَلُ الْفَاجِرِ الَّذِي يَقْرَأُ الْقُرْآنَ كَمَثَلِ الرَّيْحَانَةِ رِيحُهَا طَيِّبٌ وَطَعْمُهَا مُرٌّ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَمَثَلُ الْفَاجِرِ الَّذِي لَا يَقْرَأُ الْقُرْآنَ كَمَثَلِ الْحَنْظَلَةِ طَعْمُهَا مَرٌّ وَلَا رِيحَ لَهَا، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَمَثَلُ الْجَلِيسِ الصَّالِحِ كَمَثَلِ صَاحِبِ الْمِسْكِ إِنْ لَمْ يُصِبْكَ مِنْهُ شَيْءٌ أَصَابَكَ مِنْ رِيحِهِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَمَثَلُ جَلِيسِ السُّوءِ كَمَثَلِ صَاحِبِ الْكِيرِ إِنْ لَمْ يُصِبْكَ مِنْ سَوَادِهِ أَصَابَكَ مِنْ دُخَانِهِ .

In Hadees No. 4833, Sunan Abu Dawood (Chapter: General Behaviour/Kitab Al-Adab), Allah’s Rasool (ﷺ) has been narrated as having said, “A man follows the religion of his friend. So, each one should consider whom he makes friends with.”

The religion of nature, Islam favours moderation in every matter, even that of worship.
