Introduction

Bali is an island off Indonesia’s archipelago. The culture of the people who inhabit this island and its unique natural beauty endear it to the hearts of holiday lovers who prefer life away from booming city life. Its geographical location makes it an ideal location for a vacation. Bali Island boasts of the worlds’ longest sandy beaches, blue warm waters, and crashing surf. The inhabitants of this island are warm and very receptive and it is no surprise that the island has been nicknamed ‘The Island of God in Paradise.’ This descriptive essay is going to capture the central role that Bali Island has played in bringing together my family (Herbst, 1997). We chose it as our number one vacation destination and it did pay dividends. The time we spent together as a family unit made us closer than ever before.

I know this is a matter of taste, but then, I normally ask my friends where they would love to spend their holidays. I receive many different answers, but certainly, for me, I would prefer a place that is comfortable, calm, and relaxing. Tranquility tops the list of my priorities.

The place should be a destination where I can get away from all my troubles and command the spectacular sights of the world’s nature, invoking my childhood memories. It should be a place that can disconnect me from the hustles and bustles of the world, reconnect with my inner self, and be able to meditate about my undertakings, thereby identifying my strengths and weaknesses. That is indeed Bali Island.

I have always harbored a thought of going with my entire family for a summer vacation and have kept corresponding with many travel agencies. However, it never occurred to me that summer was just a doorstep away and no substantive arrangements had been made. I had read many travel journals, all of which mentioned how wonderful Bali Island was for holiday lovers. I had no choice but to jump to that option. It was one chilly morning when my entire family boarded a taxi to JF Kennedy International Airport and chartered a plane to Jakarta, Indonesia.

The journey was supposed to take 30 hours but because of flight delays, we ended up reaching our destination four hours later. Fatigue weighed down on us but at least the following day we were on the beautiful sandy beaches of Bali Island. The horizon was dotted with beautiful blue seawaters waiting for the daybreak to begin. The deep blue sea was so expansive and dotted with happily looking holidaymakers. The breeze was so gentle and the sea tranquil.

This soothing atmosphere endeared me so much to this island. As the sun’s rays lit the horizons, it occurred to me that morning had arrived. As we gracefully worked along the Island’s sandy beaches barefooted, we could feel the soft sands that kept sinking under the siege of our weights. The tide kept on hitting the shores thereby splashing water on our sunburnt faces. It felt like taking a very cold shower in the scorching summer sun. Fatigue from the grueling journey gave way to a feeling of true happiness. As I set my foot into the waters, the coldness of the water embraced my feet. The day rushed to the end without us noticing and we could not wait for tomorrow.

Bali Island is an unrivaled vacation destination. The experiences that we went through made our family closer than ever before. The time we spent together, the candid discussion we had on those things that dog our family, and being able to forget all the troubles that you go through in everyday life makes it my number one destination.

A trip to the beach essay

A trip to the beach essay , The sea is one of the most important entertainment for man since ancient times, where man raises his thoughts and worries and engages in the spectacular sea view, the successive waves of surf and boats , all of this gives you many ideas from which you can write a trip to the beach essay in English .

  • A trip to the beach essay

The sea is one of the most important entertainments for man since ancient times, where man get rid of his thoughts and concerns. Man used to spend the time thinking about the wonderful sea view and watching the successive waves breaking against the shore. Observing the off shore ships and boats and think beyond this sea, what is on the opposite shore, people who came before him to this place and who will come after him with same concerns and reasons brought him to the sea.

Throughout the school year, I was eager to the sea and waiting for the exams to end and the start of the summer vacation to visit to my friends in the nearby coastal city.

I have been communicating with my friends all year. And they are also waiting for the exams to end and the summer vacation to enjoy the sea, beach and fishing.

When I go to them, we organize a lot of useful activities such as swimming, fishing, diving, playing beach ball, volleyball, kayaking and other fun activities.

We also spend our time fishing using a boat we take from the fishing port after obtaining the necessary permits.

We start early in the early morning to take advantage of sunlight and head to the fishing port to get licenses and ride the fishing boat.

The boat goes away from the beach to an area that only the captain knows it well.  When we reach an area with lots of fish that nobody else knows, he asks us to prepare and start fishing.

We remain busy all day fishing. We eat sandwiches and have drinks prepared by the captain’s assistant.

We use fishing rod and reel. Often catch three or four fish at a time. So we have no chance for anything else on that day except fishing because of plenty of fish from all size and type.

At about 3 pm the captain tells us that we have to go back to the beach and we collect our equipments and prepare to leave.

The return trip by boat is more beautiful and wonderful when returning because the sun is in our back and has tended to go down.

The return journey takes a full hour and sometimes it is even more. We take advantage of this time to enjoy the view of the city, which we see from a distance, and take pictures and check the fish and talk about the oddities and that happened to us during the fishing.

I would recommend all those wishing to enjoy the experience of going on a trip to the sea and riding a boat to go fishing.

A visit to a sea beach essay

One of my special summer holidays was two years ago when we went on a trip to the island of Maldives, and we were able to enjoy the many distinctive beaches, all of which are characterized by white sand and wonderful turquoise water.

I enjoyed the drink a lot while sitting in a hammock hanging in a palm tree, as well as wandering and relaxing at sunset on the tongues stretching in the sea, enjoying the candles, the wonderful view, the evening parties and music, It was the best beach I’ve ever sat on and had so much fun.

I hope to repeat this experience again and visit the Maldives again.

Visit to a beach essay for class 3

It is great to appreciate the good things that we possess and know how to preserve them, whether from the aesthetic side or from the cultural and tourism side.

I live in a coastal city, we have many beautiful beaches that I am very happy to visit and spend time on. I feel very comfortable as soon as I reach the beach and see the sea and hear the sound of the waves, I feel calm and very happy.

And when I smell the smell of water, I feel a great desire to go down and enjoy it, especially on sunny days, the water is very attractive, as it moisturizes the body and gives freshness and vitality.

I very much like to visit the beach with my family members and practice water sports with them. We enjoy that a lot, there are always some happy and funny situations that happen with us.

Besides the funny situations, I learned a lot to appreciate the natural blessings that are around us, and that there are people who are unlucky, as there are many cities and countries that do not have beaches and they cannot enjoy such wonderful beaches and such a beautiful feeling. Therefore, I greatly appreciate what we possess of natural goods.

Short essay about holiday at beach

It’s great to go back to normal activities and enjoy life like we used to do in the past. There is no doubt that life will not return to 100% normal as it was this year, but it will certainly return gradually, such as returning to study, going shopping and taking a walk, and visiting the beach.

This is the second year after the whole world was infected with the Corona epidemic, and this is the first vacation on the beach for me and my family.

It was not easy to go out in gatherings and there are laws that prevent this. Even because many public places are closed, so it was great in my city to coordinate the governor with the beaches to receive specific numbers daily while maintaining distance and preventive measures.

We were able to book online at a nearby beach and only me and my family could go there. We enjoyed the beach, the water and the sun a lot. It’s been a long time without going out for a walk and sitting in the fresh air, we really needed that.

I really liked the idea of the website and pre-booking, especially that the beach is almost empty and there are no large numbers, which left us an opportunity to play and enjoy more comfort.

It was a nice vacation we all needed and I hope it will happen again and this disease will not come back fiercely again.

Sauveteurs in the essay the seaside are

All countries are witnessing a significant and noticeable change in the state of the climate and the environmental change resulting from the increase in global warming, which is caused by exhausts and factories all over the world.

Therefore, many coastal countries are going through many changes, including rising sea waves, and an increase in the water level at different times of the year, which none of these countries witnessed before.

In the recent period, there was a clear and noticeable role of lifeguards on the shores of the sea, and I was able to see their effective role and work, which many of the city’s residents testify to. Where they caused on a daily basis to save many people from drowning, which makes them in a great place and loved by all the people of the city.

This is due to their development and their awareness of the changes surrounding us, which made them competent and a great deal of responsibility, and fully aware of the danger that many countries are going through.

I liked the job of a beach lifeguard very much and would like, on my end-of-year vacation, to join them and help others.

Sauveteurs in the essay the seaside area

Everyone is waiting to go to the beach and see the sea and the sky, and listen to the sounds of the waves that calm the nerves of many, in addition to going into the water and extracting the negative energy in the body. Therefore, many people come to enjoy and meditate on the beaches of the city every year.

The more people coming, the greater the dangers arise, and the beaches need monitoring and quick ambulance services.

Here comes the role of the rescue workers on the seashore, in paying attention to dangerous areas, and whenever a person approaches them, he is alerted by the whistle to return to the safety area.

They also play an important and significant role in quick rescue operations, and the correct first aid operation that preserves human life from any dangers.

Therefore, their role is very important, and it cannot be underestimated, and they must be listened to, no matter how good you think you are at swimming.

Their experience must be respected, as they witness daily drownings, and see how the cases are in dangerous situations, so they care a lot about avoiding the matter by keeping you away from the clouds areas, in which many people drown.

Personally, I greatly respect the role they play, and I would very much like in the coming years to be able to join them and help others, so that they do not drown and that parents do not lose their children, as happens a lot around me.

Beach Trip With Family

Pleasant description On a lovely summer weekend when sun was playing hide and seek with the clouds, and the temperature was low I accompanied with my mother and my small brother to the beach, the aroma of the sand and roaring of the waves triggered my excitement. I carried our stuff and found a nice place, where I placed the mat for mother and used our umbrella shade to get some cover if needed. There were peaceful trade winds that blew offshore; thus, keeping the waters serene and buzzing our ears. I applied sunscreen on my body and in the meantime my brother started to build a sand castle. He called for help but I took my surfing board and hurriedly jumped into the water and started surfing over the waves. Though I was alone but I was enjoying this peaceful and calm feeling, the water splashing from my surfboard making a shower on my back persuading me to dive in. I was joining my mother and brother in short intervals, and helping them in their sand castle. At last I dived into the water and swam like never before, I tried different styles even I floated on the waves; it was amazing and a memorable experience as I watched the seagulls and aquatic birds flying, making unique and attractive patterns on the sky. It was not just these things; there were plenty of other things that I enjoyed. We tasted different drinks and cocktails while sunbathing to refresh our taste buds and met new people. While on the beach, we enjoyed different servings including grilled cheese and stuffed steamed fish. It was a memorable and fun packed trip with my family, and we enjoyed the tropical paradise without any restrictions.

Unpleasant description

Despite the fact that the beach was lovely and clean, it was overcrowded, may be because of the two reasons that it was a weekend and secondly the weather was perfect for a family picnic. This made the place little untidy and congested, kids were adding more to this by throwing garbage and disrupting the hygienic and healthy environment. The lack of restriction in the beach resulted in drinking; entertainment was so loud and awful. Due to this some people caught into a fight and exchange of words, bachelors were also a part of this crowded the place, many of them were enjoying but few were there to spoil the picnic of others through their cheap and immoral acts, and of course their favorite ogling. Some of the beach lovers reserved their place for beach football and volleyball, creating more difficulty for the people on the beach.

Rhetorical analysis

I decided to describe a beach trip with my family because I know there is a lot that I observed, and I am able to describe it in detail. My trip to the beach offered me the opportunity to observe several things, whether pleasant or unpleasant. While explaining the pleasant and unpleasant descriptions, I considered the concepts in the writer’s toolbox so as to make a description of the beach. Since it was my first time on this beach, I ensured that I observed everything considering what I liked and what I disliked. The trip to the beach with my family was a great experience; however, there were some things that I did not like. In the pleasant description, I used words such as peaceful trade winds that blew offshore to indicate how peaceful the environment was and a nice place to stay. In the unpleasant description, I used words and made statements such as overcrowded, disrupting the hygienic environment and immoral acts that helps to portray the unpleasant environment. In both descriptions, I considered using different words and tones in order to distinguish the two descriptions in the same place and time. I tried to present the whole scene that I experienced at the beach and used those vocabulary which best fits for the situation, and I have described the necessary things, those which I believe should be included. I discussed nature, the birds, their pattern and every inspiring masterpiece of nature. Manipulation of word choices is essential when demonstrating the positive and negative aspects of anything, and I believe that I have chosen the words appropriately. I tried to use excellent and proper sentence structures in order to provide a better and clear description to ensure understanding of the beach and persuade the reader to visit that beach at least for once in his lifetime.

After completing this assignment I realized that how difficult is for an author to write a story and attract the readers, it is very difficult to plot each and everything properly and to describe it to its best. It is not easy to write even a single page, it takes a thorough understanding, brainstorming and pondering of the topic. A well-organized piece of writing is the one where readers develop interest in the writing on their own. I have made efficient use of my limited skills and knowledge in ensuring a detailed description of this place. Before beginning I thought it would be difficult but later I realized that once you start writing thins get easier and it is much easy to describe a place that I am familiar with than an imaginary one. I have also learned that it is possible to write about one place offering two different perspectives, and how to handle and describe them using suitable words. When describing the two descriptions, I manipulated words so that to describe the beach in two different ways. In order to describe one place in two different ways, it requires excellent planning and proper integration of the writer’s toolbox that acts as a guide. As a writer, it is essential to integrate different human senses so as to indulge the reader. I also experienced that we neglect many things in our life regarding them as unimportant and useless, but a writer’s mind is totally different. A writer grasps the hidden things resting in a particular situation and makes it an interesting piece of writing for the reader. I believe presenting your real life experiences or imagination in the form of writing surely enhance your senses and your abilities, as a writer works and write on almost all the topics. I have read articles of same writers but on different topics with the same command, grip and knowledge of the subject. Moreover, this assignment motivated me to continue writing my personal experiences or imaginary thoughts and I believe it will surely help me later in life.

English Summary

A Day at the Beach Essay

A beach is an area of sand or small stones around the sea. I spent a day at Marina Beach in Chennai when I went there with my family on vacations. It was one of the best days of my life. I always wanted to visit the beach because it is a lot of fun.

The beach was surrounded by dense trees and it was very clean. My mother sat on the sand under a tree and took out a book to read. My sister and I went to play with the water in the sea. We splashed water on each other and enjoyed the sea waves when they made us go up and down. After some time, we came back. Then I and my sister made a sandcastle. I also collected shells on the beach and we decorated the castle with them.

The beach became more splendid when the sky turned red. After six oclock, we went to the changing room and took bath and changed our clothes because the guards did not allow us to be on the beach after sunset. We came back to our hotel and we all talked about our day. We all were so happy because the day was well spent.

A family trip is always a special and memorable experience. It is a time when loved ones come together to create lasting memories and bond over shared experiences. Recently, my family and I embarked on a trip to the beautiful city of Paris, France. This trip was not only a chance to explore a new destination but also an opportunity to spend quality time together and strengthen our family bonds.

The planning for our trip began months in advance. We researched the best places to visit, the most delicious foods to try, and the most convenient modes of transportation. We booked our flights, accommodations, and tours well ahead of time to ensure a smooth and stress-free trip. As the departure date approached, excitement and anticipation grew among all family members.

Finally, the day arrived when we set off on our journey to Paris. The flight was long but comfortable, and we were all eager to land and start exploring the city. As we stepped out of the airport, the cool breeze and the bustling streets of Paris welcomed us. We checked into our hotel, which was conveniently located near the Eiffel Tower, one of the most iconic landmarks in the city.

Our first day in Paris was dedicated to exploring the Eiffel Tower. We took a leisurely stroll along the Seine River, admiring the beautiful architecture and charming cafes along the way. 6 surprising family-friendly adventure vacations

Jordi Lippe-McGraw

Planning a family vacation can often feel as complicated and frustrating as solving a Rubik's Cube. To simplify the process, we often gravitate toward the tried-and-true theme parks with their promise of endless entertainment (and endless lines) or resorts splashed with kiddie pools and ice-cream buffets. Though these places are fantastic for wearing out youngsters, they can sometimes leave the adults wanting something more.

Avoid the cliche tourist traps and instead embark on an educational adventure that offers thrills for the kids and genuine enjoyment for adults. From Zambia's wild plains to Antarctica's icy shores, these unexpected locales for a family vacation provide enriching experiences that cater to all ages. Ready to break free from the ordinary? Here are some surprising adventure vacations to take with your family.

Hiking outside of Las Vegas

essay about trip to beach with family

Las Vegas is not just casinos and nightlife: Sin City during the day can be surprisingly wholesome, especially if you explore Red Rock Canyon, which is just a 20-minute drive west of the Strip. This national conservation area has several shorter hiking trails kids can handle, like Lost Creek Trail that's less than a mile out and back. Once you've had your fill of nature, Las Vegas also has kid-friendly spots like the Discovery Children's Museum downtown, with interactive science and art exhibits, and the Shark Reef Aquarium at Mandalay Bay. Several other hotels cater to families, too. Circus Circus Hotel & Casino (with rates as low at $38 per night) has an amusement park, splash pad and free circus acts. Meanwhile, the Four Seasons Hotel Las Vegas (rates from around $355 per night) is one of the only hotels without a casino and provides complimentary kids amenities like access to games, books, diapers, baby bathtubs and more.

Snorkeling in the Galapagos

essay about trip to beach with family

Instead of booking a typical beach vacation, dive into Darwin's playground in the Galapagos Islands for an interactive science lesson kids will be so captivated by they won't even realize they're learning. One of the best ways to explore this unique archipelago is via a cruise . When we took our son there, we opted for a cruise with Lindblad Expeditions, which handled all the travel details, allowing us to jump straight into adventures like snorkeling with playful sea lions. Yes, the cruises can be pricey, with rates starting at around $6,437 per person, but there are reduced rates for kids. While there is no minimum age with Lindblad on their family cruises, other companies require kids to be at least 7 years old. My son, Wilder, was 4 at the time, and has fond memories of kayaking, snorkeling with us (he held on to us with floats on), learning to drive the tender boat and going on easy hikes. "I loved when the sea lions blew bubbles in my face when we went swimming," said Wilder, now 6. "And getting my boating license was fun."

Alternatively, if you prefer to stay on land and save some money , Hotel Indigo Galapagos provides a fantastic base for about $365 or 75,000 IHG One Rewards points per night. No matter what you choose, witnessing your kid's wide-eyed wonder as they encounter these creatures up close is a worthwhile experience.

Cruising in Antarctica

essay about trip to beach with family

Antarctica is truly the ultimate "cool" destination for adventurous families, both literally and figuratively. It's not every day you can whisk your kids off to the end of the world. While still costly, with rates starting around $6,000 per person, cruising is the most budget-friendly way of getting there. And some cruise lines like Hurtigruten, Quark and Lindblad are more kid-friendly than others because they offer special guide books and crafts, and some even let kids sail for free. Your children won't just see penguins; they'll learn about their habitats, understand the effects of climate change in real time and even dabble in junior glaciology. Think of it as a gigantic, icy classroom where every lesson is an adventure, no textbooks are required and the only tests are the awe-inspiring sights of icebergs and wildlife. This once-in-a-lifetime trip might seem extravagant, but the educational returns are as vast as the Antarctic landscape.

Because this is a long trip, some cruise lines have minimum age limits of 8, while others don't have any. To avoid the rough waters of the Drake Passage with children, some cruise lines offer the somewhat pricier option of flying to the continent and then getting on a cruise.

Riding the rails and trails in Napa Valley

essay about trip to beach with family

California's Napa Valley , widely celebrated for its world-class wines and scenic vineyards, is also a fantastic destination for family fun. With its laid-back pace, Napa Valley is a breath of fresh air for families eager to explore and unwind together in a picturesque setting. The valley offers much more than just wine tasting (there's juice tasting for the young ones, too, at spots like Castello di Amorosa). Families can enjoy scenic bike rides through the rolling vineyards, for a touch of adventure in a serene landscape. Additionally, the Napa Valley Wine Train provides an educational and relaxing journey through the heart of wine country, complete with historical insights and beautiful views. Select packages offer special rates for children, and while there's no children's menu on board, menu items can be adapted for younger palates.

As far as where to stay, Carneros Resort and Spa (rates from around $730 per night) has a family-friendly pool with kid-sized pool chairs, and Calistoga Motor Lodge & Spa, a JdV by Hyatt hotel (rates from around $220 or 21,000 World of Hyatt points per night) has hula hoops on hand and poolside games like cornhole.

Falconry lessons in Scotland

essay about trip to beach with family

When I wanted to go to Scotland for my son's spring break in April, he and my husband weren't the most excited. But it turns out it's a destination that transforms family vacations into an adventure straight out of a storybook. In the majestic Highlands, hotels like Gleneagles (rates from around $722 per night) are playgrounds where kids can participate in activities like horseback riding and falconry. It's like Hogwarts without the homework. With its dedicated kids clubs and many activities, this hotel ensures that kids are entertained, engaged and maybe even a bit educated (but shh, don't tell them that part!) while parents are pampered at the spa or enjoying a round of golf. "The life-sized chutes and ladder game in the kids club was my favorite," my son Wilder said.

The adventure continues in Edinburgh : From the mysterious allure of Edinburgh Castle looming over the city to the hands-on exhibits at the National Museum of Scotland, there's enough to keep any family busy and bewitched. And don't overlook the tales of Greyfriars Bobby, the loyal dog, or the magical corners that inspired Harry Potter.

Safari in Africa

essay about trip to beach with family

Taking your kids on a safari in Africa is not as daunting as it sounds. Whether in the vast plains of the Serengeti or the lush landscapes of South Africa's Kruger National Park, a safari can be an unforgettable journey for both you and your kids if you choose a family-friendly operator or camp. When we took our then 4-year-old to Zambia, we chose Time + Tide Africa since they had special kid activities and food, and they tailored the schedule to allow time for naps. Mornings spent spotting zebras and elephants and evenings under the stars were magical. Much like a preschool day with nature as the classroom, the structure kept our son enchanted. Yes, safaris can be a significant investment starting around $1,000 per person per night (note, these prices can vary greatly depending on time of year and whether it's budget or luxury). But watching your child's awe as they spot their first elephant or lion in the wild? Absolutely priceless. Or, my son's favorite part: "Watching the hippos' tails spin when they went potty."

Bottom line

If it's time to swap those lazy beach holidays for something a tad more thrilling, the icy classrooms of Antarctica and animal-packed plains of Africa flip the script on typical family getaways.

essay about trip to beach with family

Beforehand the cruise , we plan to stay in the Circular Quay area and do typical sightseeing (first time visitors).

The cruise brings us back to the Overseas Passenger terminal on Sunday morning, and our flight leaves SYD on Tuesday night, so we have the better part of 3 days (technically just 1 full day though).

For this segment, we were thinking of staying near one of the beaches like Bondi or Coogee to slow down, relax, and end on a high note.

1) Is this a good idea? If not, is there another alternative besides more time in the CBD?

2) if so, which area is best? We'd be hoping to mostly go to the beach or do coastal walks and would prefer to walk for breakfast/dinner vs. needing to take transit.

Have a look at Manly. I think it ticks all your boxes.

It is further from the airport though, being on the northern side of the harbour. You can use public transport directly there from CQ via a ferry and to the airport from Manly by ferry and train. Depends how much luggage you have as to whether that’s a comfortable option.

Manly also has the benefit of a much larger selection of commercial accommodation options.

Look at the Sebel Manly Beach for location.

Manly or Coogee are good bets.

With Multiple Playgrounds And A Duck Pond, This Family-Friendly Park In Southern California Is The Best Summer Day Trip

Written by

Our community parks give families the opportunity to spend summer days outside without spending a dime. If you're looking for an activity-filled park with great play spaces and beautiful scenery, consider a family day trip to the beloved Pollywog Park in Manhattan Beach, CA.

Pollywog Park is one of the coolest (and the largest) parks in the South Bay. This scenic grassy amphitheater is the beginning of everything the park has to offer.

alt

The newest playground at Pollywog Park is a wonderland of fun for kids of all ages and features an awesome galleon ship and lots of nature-based play elements.

alt

I say “the newest playground” because there are actually two large playgrounds in the park, giving kids hours of interactive playtime.

alt

The large Pollywog Park pond features several fountains and is lined with benches to sit and enjoy the view. It is bordered by a natural wildlife refuge and is home to a variety of fish, ducks, geese, and turtles. Families love to come and feed the birds here.

alt

In addition to wide grassy lawns, there are benches, picnic tables, barbecues, and three reservable gazebos throughout the park, as well as restrooms, drinking fountains, and trash cans. And you’ll enjoy plenty of tree-shaded areas that are perfect for warm mid-summer days.

alt

In the center of the park is the “little red house,” one of the oldest beach cottages in the South Bay. It was moved here and renovated and is now a museum run by the Manhattan Beach Historical Society.

alt

There are lots of walking trails around the pond and through the park. The park’s Manhattan Beach Botanical Garden and public pool make offer even more exploration and activity around the space.

alt

All summer long, crowds gather in the park on Sunday evenings for the annual Manhattan Beach Concerts In The Park. Concerts are free and popular, so come early with your chairs, blankets, and a great picnic (this backpack cooler is a perfect companion for summer events!)

alt

You can find a list of the current year’s bands on the Manhattan Beach Parks and Recreation website.

Have you enjoyed a summer day or concert at Pollywog Park In Manhattan Beach, CA? Share your experience with us in the comments. If you're ready to head inside for a great meal after a day of outdoor fun at Pollywog Park, take the family for a shareable steak dinner at this awesome neighborhood steakhouse . Man drowns in ocean while on beach vacation with family, police say

OAK ISLAND, N.C. ( WECT /Gray News) – A man on a beach vacation with his family drowned over the Labor Day weekend, according to the Oak Island Police Department in North Carolina.

Authorities were told 37-year-old Brannon Rife, of Ohio, was swimming with his family in Oak Island when they lost sight of him in the water.

Bystanders found Rife in the water and brought him to shore. He was unresponsive and they began to perform CPR until rescue crews arrived.

Crews with the Oak Island Police Department, the fire department and water rescue were called to help around 5:15 p.m.

Police have ruled the drowning as an accident at this time.

“There were no reported signs of distress, and no adverse water conditions were apparent at the time; surf conditions were at green flag. It is unknown at this time if there were any pre-existing or sudden medical conditions which may have been a contributing factor,” the police department stated.
